love this basic, superwash yarn 5 out of 5 stars (5 out of 5)
Im a fan of yarn companies that make reliable, affordable yarns in variety of colors: cascade, berroco, shibui, etc. I love cascade 220 superwash for gift projects because 1 I know that non-knitters won't take time to handwash, block, and dry a garment the way I do, 2 I can give recipients the link to their shade card page and pick a color. Which is exactly what I did when my mom gave me her old, pilled, store-bought acrylic tunic vest and asked me to re-create it, in a nicer yarn. The vest was sport-weight, but I still went with this because this yarn is more of DK than worsted. With US 5, I was able to get the gauge, similar to the original vest. It's wool, it's not super luscious soft like malabrigo or madelinetosh in similar weight, but it's softer than most wool. I'm still knitting the tunic vest, but I used this yarn for a sweater jacket for myself 3 years ago. I still get a lot of wear out of it, and it has a bit of pilling issue but nothing too serious. Will definitely buy again.
