- You'll be famous and the envy of your knitting friends! Well, famous to the extent that people around the world who regularly come to our site will enjoy reading and knitting (or crocheting) your pattern! I'm not sure you will be immediately invited to be on The Today Show, but your pattern will be featured on our website, in our newsletter, and will include your photo and short bio!
- You will win a $50 gift certificate to Jimmy Beans Wool that can be used in our store or online!
- PLUS a prize pack donated by the manufacturers (over $300 worth of goodies!). The prize pack is expanding all the time, and currently includes:

- Patterns may be knit or crochet.
- Patterns must be wholly original. An original pattern is one that is not directly modeled on an existing pattern and differs substantially in gauge (or yarn weight), stitch pattern, and design styling from other available patterns.
- Submissions (and photos) must be designed and knitted using a yarn and color currently sold at Jimmy Beans Wool. If you have a question about whether we will be continuing to carry a yarn that is currently on sale, just email or call us and we'll let you know.
- Patterns must be tested and demonstration items knitted before submission. The photo included with submission must be of the item knitted as directed in the pattern.
- Patterns should be formatted with a list of materials first, followed by gauge and then directions and charts (if necessary). Please include at least 2 sizes unless your item is one size fits all. For an example of how patterns should be formatted, please use our free Diagonal Baby Blanket pattern as an example.
- Winning Patterns will become the property of Jimmy Beans Wool and will be available for all customers on the Free Pattern section of JimmyBeansWool.com.
- Submissions are only open to designers with a United States shipping address (the prize pack must be shipped to a United States address).
|
- Patterns must be submitted by the end of each month in order to be eligible for the next month's contest.
- Submissions must include a photo (at least 3.5" wide and 72 dpi) of the knitted item. Make sure that your photograph is clear and shows your item to its best advantage. We need to be able to see exactly how beautiful your garment is in order to choose it as the winner! If sending via US Mail, please include a photo that we can scan.
- Submissions should include a photo and 2-3 line bio of the pattern writer - we want everyone to know a little about you!
- You must submit a written or emailed copy of the following with your pattern:
"By submitting a pattern to the Jimmy Beans pattern contest I certify that I am the sole creator of the work and that I have not violated the intellectual property rights of any other person in creating this pattern. This notice will serve as my written permission to allow my pattern and photos, if selected as the winner, to be used exclusively by Jimmy Beans Wool in advertising and online. Note: Jimmy Beans Wool accepts no liability for submissions which prove to be un-original by the designer."
- Submissions may be emailed to contest@JimmyBeansWool.com or sent via US Mail to:
Jimmy Beans Wool Attn: Pattern Contest 891 Trademark Drive Reno, NV 89521
- This contest is not open to employees of Jimmy Beans Wool or their families.
