We designed this scarf to be knit or crochet (download separate directions for each below) out of one of our favorite yarns, the Rowan Lima. Love this scarf? So does Real Simple Magazine! Specifications
For the Knit Version:

US 10 circular 32" needle
Rowan Lima: 1 Ball each of Colors 885 Machu Picchu (A), 888 Lima (B), 890 Bolivia (C), 886 Puno (D).

For the Crochet Version:

6.0 MM/US J Crochet Hook
Rowan Lima: 1 Ball each of Colors 878 Patagonia (A), 891 La Paz (B), 886 Puno (C), 893 Argentina (D).

Gauge

Knit: 16 sts = 4 X 4 inches in stockinette.
Crochet: 2 sts tall x 3 st wide = 1 X 1 inches in double crochet

Finished Size

Knit: 60" by 7"
Crochet: 85"" x 8"
