The Singer's Stone, The Setting Sun... whatever you choose to call Carnelian, there's no denying this vibrant orange gemstone will capture your attention and keep it! Known for imparting courage, providing protection, enhancing creativity, and emboldening performers, Carnelian is not only beautiful to behold but also teeming with positive energy. And, as the seventh color in our Semi-Precious Tosh Series, it makes yarn look good!
July is the hottest month of the year, so it's only fitting that Carnelian is here to warm up Monika's next trio of crocheted squares! We just love the way her Semi-Precious Throw pattern shows off the depth of color in this year's collection of colors.

Jenny cast on the Vanilla Fog hat by Andrea Mowry using Tosh Merino Light in Carnelian, Amethyst and Filtered Light. She then topped it off with a playful pom pom using a mix of all three colors! Sadly, Amethyst has since sold out, but the color Moonstone would make a great substitute.
And, don't forget to pick up a set of hand-crafted Spark Stitch Markers, created specifically to coordinate with this alluring colorway!

At work and in our own personal lives, we've noticed that scrap yarn has a tendency to take over. That's why we've created Magic Ball Kits! Packed in one of our custom drawstring project bags, each kit comes with a size US 7-24" US 7-24" Trendz Circular Needle and enough yarn (200 grams to be exact) to make the Hot Mess Cowl from our very own Rachel Roden. Knit with coordinating colors in different weights and fibers, this cowl will teach you plenty of stitch patterns while introducing you to a variety of yarns! And, once you're done knitting, you'll have a truly distinctive, one-of-a-kind accessory!
When some of the gals came back from TNNA this year, they brought back with them a new obsession: Woolbuddies! These amazing kits provide everything you need to make your own fanciful felted creatures, including the felting needles, wool and a step-by-step instruction card! Pretty soon you'll be using all of your leftover wool to make these!
If you have an abundance of worsted weight scrap yarn, we suggest casting on the Stolz Hat by Renegade Knitwear. Choose one main color and up to eight contrasting colors to create a unique hat that incorporates an interesting chevron pattern with color-work, slipped stitches, and German short rows. We've even made Tosh Vintage kits to make choosing colors easy!
For those of you who have a smaller supply of leftover fingering or DK weight yarns, Rachel's Modicum Mitts or Hat pattern would make great scrap-busting projects! Originally knit for our Tosh Tea Cakes, both patterns use small amounts of yarn, are easily memorized, and great for those who are new to stranded knitting.
