Jenny stashed a skein of May's Semi-Precious Amethyst in Tosh Merino Light, but had no idea what to do with it until July's color, Carnelian, arrived! Loving how Amethyst brought out the purple tones of Carnelian, she grabbed a third skein, Filtered Light, and cast on the Vanilla Fog Hat by Andrea Mowry.
This adorable color-blocked hat features soft and squishy brioche stripes with two strands held together throughout. The marling technique results in a playful, pastel-colored hat that brings to mind lavender and creamsicles! Jenny highly recommends checking gauge on this hat, as she went up 2 needle sizes and it still turned out too small! Next time she says she will cast on more stitches.
We have since sold out of Amethyst, but the color
Moonstone would make a great substitute!
