52 Weeks of Socks
This book is a beauty. A little hefty, but well worth the value. It's printed in Europe and uses some yarns that might be harder to find in the United States, but the correct gauge, and you should be set. Also, there's a variety between toe up and cuff down, textured patterning, and color work, so while you may not fancy all of the patterns, you'll still be saving a bundle against individual purchases. Very nice eye candy!

Regia Design
I chose the yarn becase my sister fell in love with the color play. The variation was in darker shades and the blends just flowed from one to another without a drastic color change. The yarn isn't as soft as I'd like, but it appears as though it will hold well for the pair of socks I'm making.

Lorna's Laces
I really enjoy each month's Limited Edition colors and Lorna's Laces yarns are great to work with. The feel is nice in your hand and works smoothly on the needles. Some yarns can lose their twist and get caught by a needle, splitting the yarn, but this rarely occurs with Lorna's.
