Just OK
There's no doubt this is a beautiful case. I just didn't find it as useful as I expected.
PROS:
- The gray color is beautiful.
- The interior and exterior materials are very lux.
- It is sturdy - your cat/dog won't get into this one.
- The yarn feed hole is very useful.
= The exterior closure is easy to open and close, but definitely stays shut.
CONS:
- The magnets on the lid are tiny. That makes them difficult to remove and easy to lose. This should not be used or stored within reach of children under 3 years old.
- The lid surface will hold a pattern, but you have to use the magnets it comes with only 3 because even strong fridge type magnets don't work with it.
- To view the pattern in the lid, you have to open the case and place it at eye level. This defeats the purpose of having it at your feet or by your side.
- Although I read the dimensions before ordering, it was smaller than I thought it would be. If you were knitting sweater it would not fit.
- It isn't big enough to carry an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper without folding it. I usually knit from a copy of my pattern inside a standard sized sheet protector, so for me this was a deal breaker.
The other issues I had were specific to the case I received. It appeared that the case I got was already used. The notebook inside was bent up and the interior tag was just laying in the bag not attached with magnets like in the picture. Also, there were very minor manufacturing flaws seams don't match inside, excess glue on seams. For most people this probably wouldn't matter. However, because I am on a fixed income, at this price point this purchase was a splurge.
