Blocking Mats
The blocking mats come in a zippered case that has a dust cover! I plan to use the dust cover for a project bag. A friend had purchased a set for me and most of my projects are too large for nine blocks to be adequate, so I purchased this identical set. I've used them to block several lace shawls and the white design in the center shows through the lace and makes it difficult to tell if everything is straight. They backs seem different or I would have used them upside down. Other than that I really enjoy using them.

It's my fault, not yours....
I had such high hopes that this would be a sock yarn my sensitive skin would like. It was not to be. I even did a princess sole and after a few hours it felt like I was walking on a cheese grater not as bad as wool but still not fun. Patterns show well but it is splitty to work with and was a bit rough on my hands. This was the Seattle Sky colorway - maybe some of the other colors are softer.

Good yardage!
This yarn has good yardage, lots of colors, and a reasonable price. The superwash factor does mean that sometimes a garment needs to be dried in the dryer to spring back into shape so making small corrections during blocking is not feasible.

I wish my skin liked wool....
I ordered this in my quest for a non-wool bulky yarn that doesn't develop a halo of fibers after it has been worn. So far so good on that front, but the yarn looks a little dull. Mine is gray, so possibly the brighter colors would be better, but it reminds me of kite string. It also untwists fairly easily. Wool makes me feel itchy, but if it didn't I would definitely pick wool over this.
