Yes!!!

I bought these specifically for magic loop two at a time socks, and I love love love them! The points are just about perfect, not sharp enough to hurt you, but very nice for tiny little stitches. I have split a little, but I think that’s due to the yarn and not the needles. The round spiral textured shaft keeps your stitches from flying off the end, but the slick coating keeps you going fast. I had originally bought the Addi square set, and while those may be the best for grip and arthritis, I would call this a close second. The texture definitely helps my grip stay loose while I’m knitting. Another fantastic Addi product!

Sock heels and toes!!

I grabbed this for some contrast, and I wanted to use my inexpensive yarns for my first pair of knit socks, something I don’t mind messing up. I am so so glad I found this yarn. It has a little more “toothy” grip and texture, and it’s ever so slightly thicker than the hand dyed merino I’m using for the body/leg of the sock. I love that it’s a little more textured and not as smooth as some merino blends, because I’m using it for durability and making a slip stitch heel it’s going to wear really well. It’s still soft enough to use for other garments too, but don’t expect the same silky smooth feeling of MadelineTosh or Malabrigo. Absolutely perfect for socks, yes the whole sock. It feels like the merino socks from Costco when knitted up, thick, durable and cozy, but not super silky. Also, it used to be labeled as “curio” if that helps! Happy knitting!

Adorable but…

I saw these darling little sheep stitch markers and I love all thing sheep alpaca llama etc, so of course I had to have them! Okay hen I opened the package however, I realized they are just plain silver tone. Looking at the photos, I thought they were overlaid with white and black paints. I was looking for something a little more. So back they go, and I’ll find an artisan production, which a variety of painted sheep. White black, RAINBOW and all. JBW has the absolute best customer service, I LOVE these women and men, and I’m blessed to be local! You will absolutely never go wrong with a purchase here.

Hope this is a whoopsie!

I had my needle gauge sitting in a project bag for a while now, and I grabbed it when I realized all my Chiaogoo tips where everywhere and needed to reorganize. I used this needle gauge and imagine my surprise when not a single size was correct! By correct, I mean that the needle slips all the way through, snugly but with just a hair size bit of room. This one, only the tip of the needle fits in to the correct size yes I checked, twice on each size! I’ll be exchanging for one that’s right. Really truly hoping I just got a slightly defective one. I haven’t seen any other reviews saying anyone else had this problem.

So luxuriously soft!

I created a simple and very long scarf for a very tall friend with this yarn. This was possibly the softest yarn I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. Next to skin soft, and the high cashmere content is unheard of at this price point. Keep in mind, this is a 50gram hank, so plan your project accordingly. The colors are rich and vibrant! I can’t rave about this yarn enough! You won’t be disappointed. So so soft, and yet still strong, with the perfect amount of twist. No splitting, just perfectly formed stitches. I would say this is a light DK, possibly a sport weight. I’ve seen it listed as both, depending on the website. Make sure to swatch if you’re making a fitted item. Love this yarn!

Splitty yarn

I don’t understand why! This yarn keeps splitting on my and I haven’t had that happen since I worked with acrylic years ago! It’s incredibly soft, and the colors are lovely, so much that I bought 2 more hanks for the Eiffel Shawl. I’m so glad that I tested my first hank out, I’m returning the other 2 to trade for the incredibly squishy DK merino from La Bien Aimee, and hopefully they’ll give me better results. I’ve worked with MadelineTosh cashmere, and while very slippery, the twist remained and I never had problems with splitting. I would buy that again, but I’m adamantly against using silk anymore. I wish I could return the La Bien Aimee that I’m working with but alas, I’ve already made it into a cake. To say that I’m disappointed in my $43 purchase is an understatement!

Washable single ply for the win!

I love Malabrigo colors, they are honestly the most intense and beautifully hand dyed yarns for the price point. First wool yarns to really convince me this was the way to go. Keep in mind, they are hand dyed, no lots, and the pictures will not represent the EXACT yarn you will receive. So if you can shop in store that’s the best, jimmy beans is so great that they will show you the lots they have in stock, and let you choose! If you can’t come into the store, just send them a message when you order, but they are fantastic at picking a selection that is the closest to each other if you order in quantity. The BEST customer service for a reason!

Fantastico!!

I’m currently knitting a slip stitch colorwork beanie with this yarn. Omg the softness just blows me away! I picked up a tip from Pink Knits, she said to double wind your yarn, to allow it to relax into its natural state. I’ve just tried it with this yarn and it’s so worth the extra minute! It’s so fluffy! Keep in mind, it won’t work on a regular plastic winder, those are made for a single wind, 100 grams. But jimmy beans sells a beautiful wood winder that should work. Otherwise, just wind it by hand loosely and you’ll have the same result.
My girlfriend saw what I was working with, and she said, “oh, that’s cheap yarn!” but you know what? I’m making a fluffy soft PERFECT beanie for less than half of what the other yarns could cost me. It’s all what you put into your work. I don’t think it’s “cheap,” it’s just inexpensive, and it’s 100% merino and as good as they come, actually better! Happy knitting!

Amazing, perfect stitches!

I started my craft after many years of crocheting, and I have ergo hooks, top of the line. So of course when I started knitting, everyone recommended Addi or Chiaogoo. I love them both, but since I’m just trying everything, I was really interested in a squared needle set. This has blown me away! I’m not sure if it’s just the yarn I’m using, or that I’m getting better at knitting, but DANG my stitches are so perfect they look like a machine printed them. The points are pretty great in my opinion too. I love that Chiaogoo has nice sharp tapered points, and I thought I wouldn’t be able to work with Addi, but these are just perfection! They glide so smoothly between stitches, and I’ve never had any issue splitting my yarns. They warm up to my hands very well, important now that it’s cold out. I am going to ask for the whole interchangeable set for Christmas, that’s how impressed I am from this knitting needle! A must try if you’re struggling with incredible definition! Thanks Jimmy Beans! You have such a great selection, you’ll find your perfect needle here!
