The Ocean Waves Shawl is a beautiful piece exclusively designed for MJ Yarns by Matthew Hesson-McInnis using MJ's Sophistisock. We're big fans of MJ Yarns, and we're so excited that they graciously allowed us to host this wonderful pattern on our site! This yarn is a unique blend of squishy merino, strong nylon and sparkling tencel. Not only does this yarn have a luxurious hand, the tencel adds a level of sophistication to the color that is unmatched. Because the cellulose fiber doesn't take the dye, the tencel shimmers in the light and gives each hand dyed colorway a soft heathery look.
This triangular shawl is worked from the center of the neck down, essentially working mirror-image triangles separated by two yarn-overs and a knit stitch. It also includes a Shark's Tooth Edging as a border that evokes white caps dancing along the crests of the larger, undulating waves that ripple out through the symmetric triangles of this classically shaped top-down triangular shawl. Two skeins of Sophistisock are needed for the smaller shawl, and three skeins are needed for the larger. Row-by-row AND charts are provided!
