| New Colors from Anzula & Tosh And a Namaste Sale! Care For A Scream? Scroll For A Sneak Peek! | | |
Living in Nevada makes a day trip to the seaside a little hard to pull off. Sure, we can leave early and go on a lengthy road trip, but being able to hop in a car and take a short drive? That would be so much easier, y'know?
To satiate those sweet, summer cravings, Anzula came to the rescue with three scrumptious shades that we can't wait to work with (and luckily, we don't need to drive a long way to grab them)! Each color draws inspiration from the white sands of the beach, crashing waves of the ocean, and the nostalgic coconut-y scent of our trusty sunscreen!

The best way to get a bikini body is by, well, putting a bikini on your body! This fun shade, aptly named, Bikini Body, is a gorgeous, vibrant cyan that reminds us of all the summers we spent swimming in crystal clear waters!
This shade melts into a light green (like those sweet little sea turtles!) before finally finding its way to show off an itsy bitsy teenie weenie amount of light yellow (sound familiar, anyone?)
|
Giving us our fibery fill of touring the ocean blue is the ultra-tropical Blue Lagoon! This colorway has a delectable range of blue shades from the darkest navy to the brightest turquoise, mimicking the ever-changing ocean.
As the icing on top, this color is complete with splashes of white to act as the seafoam! This colorway teleports us to the top deck of a cruise ship, pretending that we're flying!
|
|
|
For those of us who are adamant about staying on solid ground (we don't judge!), Anzula's got us covered there too. Nothing is better than a quiet beach surrounded by the calm sea, chirping seagulls, and a cloudless sky, which is exactly where Salty Beach takes us!
Light tan like the sun-kissed sand, deep, sky blue, and bright white just like the fluffy clouds, it's like we're bringing the beach to us this summer!

These shades are available for a limited time only in Nebula and Squishy for all of your sparkly and squishy needs!

You know when you have a bad day, and all you want to do is curl up at home and do something you love to get your mind off of things? We all have a comfort object of some sort, whether it be a fuzzy blanket, a stuffed animal that has been cuddled enough for the seams to loosen, or maybe an actual pet! Loving nuzzles from our fuzzy friends can make any day better!
That's why being a fiber artist is basically the best thing ever. We can unwind with the repetitive motions of unraveling our yarn, making soothing color palettes, and of course, giving it a good SQUISH (we just can't help ourselves!)

Our most recent Pop Up, Qing Fibre (pronounced "ching"), created some gorgeous yarn for just such an occasion! There's no way you can be sad when making with these marvelous strings! Each skein is filled with love from start to finish and is guaranteed to put some pep in your step, er, needles!
Layla, the mastermind behind Qing Fibre, made it her mission to create a kaleidoscope of colors that can chase any gray clouds away with something fresh, unique, and above all, exciting and vibrant!
|
|
Something truly special is born when you are dedicated and have a love for what you do, and that is very apparent in each base of Qing Fibre yarn. The high-quality fibers are dyed by hand with an eye for fun and funky color combinations to make something truly unique and memorable!
Don't forget to go and check out our official Pop Up page to see past spotlights! There, you can find the designs inspired by each shop, the yummy yarn we brought on board, and interviews diving into their stories on our blog!

"Can I Seam You In My Office, Please?"
You know what they say - when the boss is away, the makers will play - and boy, are we ever ready for some good, fibery fun! Being a knitter in an office space is hard because while you're typing out your daily work, your mind starts to wander. "Oh, how I'd LOVE to be knitting right now!" your brains says. This mindset leads to getting your fiber fix in peculiar ways. Retreating to your car because you "forgot your bag" or to a bathroom stall to feverishly finish a row, or just unapologetically frogging your last three rows at your desk - we've heard it all! Maybe we'll just use up some vacation time to do it - that's what it's for, right?
|
|
New from Madelinetosh is this custom colorway, named Out of Office! Flirting with our favorite side of the color wheel, this shade expertly blends a muted rosy pink with splashes of coral and speckled hues of blue.
These colors were put together to make us yearn for summer vacations where we sit back and sip some punch (bonus points if we have one of those cute little umbrellas in our drink)! See ya later, boss, we're definitely spending our vacation time knitting something soft and scrumptious!
|
Out Of Office is available in three fan-favorite Tosh bases: Pashmina, Tosh DK, and, of course, Tosh Merino Light! The array of sport, DK, and fingering weights make this a no-brainer when it comes to our next summer project!

Something Spooky On The Wind?
Raise your hand if you've felt like this year has lasted, like, two years now. Time has been moving strangely, and we want to hold on to those little pockets of joy like birthdays and holidays extra tightly! This got us thinking about the tail end of the year and how it hogs all of the best holidays (sorry Valentine's Day, but Halloween is just so much cooler - you only get one day to be creepy without the weird stares).
Speaking of being creepy, though, we got this weird phone call the other day. When we answered, a breathy voice wheezed out, "What's your favorite number?" A strange question, and admittedly, we were a little taken aback, but we responded accordingly. This person then chuckles and answers, "Mine is two." before hanging up. This sent chills down our spines. The call has to mean something, but what? What's so special about the number two?!
We thought about this for a while, 2-ply? 2 colors? 2 projects? This is just TOO vague! Ever since that fateful day, we've been haunted by the number 2, so we set off on a mission to figure this mystery out! Along the way, we found the most frightening things imaginable! Broken needles, frayed yarn, and tangled strings! Eek! We were beginning to feel faint! A few of the more superstitious Beans think all of these events are connected, with some of them coming to strange conclusions like, "Two Craftvents".
But as soon as those words were uttered, the wind shifted and our blood ran cold.
Maker's beware. We think this year we're in for a scare!

Adrienne's Accessories
Remember how we talked about elevating our outfits to pay homage to the neon, synth-music-blasting era of the 80s? We've slyly added nods to this decade in how we've been dressing (and it's a hoot!), but what about doing the same with our hobbies? Sure, knitting or crocheting an accessory technically counts, but what about the unsung heroes of crafting like our rulers and needle gauges?
Bringing a little bit of this desire and melding it with the elegance of cherry wood and clever, quirky design, Katrinkles has saved the day! Tell the world that you're a fun, avid maker with these earrings and necklace! The best part? The Tiny Tool Pendant Necklace has three tools (a WPI tool, a needle gauge, and a ruler in inches and centimeters) that can be used anywhere and are held together with a chic 32" cord and easy-to-use lobster clasp.
The earrings are just as much fun, available in circles and heart shapes to show just how much you LOVE your craft! Each option is 3/4" in diameter and has a cute little knit pattern laser etched into them! Each earring is crafted using sterling silver ear wires, which are non-allergenic!

Ahem. It is our pleasure to announce that the results are in!
What results, you may ask? Earlier this year, we announced the return of the Beans for Brains Scholarship, and the time has finally come for us to circle back and announce that we've selected our winners, all of whom will be awarded a $2,500 scholarship to attend an approved accredited institution of higher education! This year, we awarded the scholarship to six students who showed us their incredible drive and skill in both academics and fiber arts!
Drumroll, please...
