Good Quality
Tosh Vintage is a plied very tightly twisted, dare I say, sturdy yarn. In the skein it doesn't feel all that soft for Merino. After knitting and washing it softens considerably. So hold your judgement until you wash it! It's that final step that takes a good knitted object to great! The colors are amazing but let me tell you why they are amazing. Some hand dyed yarns make a pretty skein, but then look too busy or garish once knitted up. Most Tosh color ways appear to be curated by someone who really knows color, putting together colors that really work well. Calligraphy is a really hard color to accurately reproduce in photos. My skeins were much less peachy than photos show with more lavender and grays. It's lovely. There are no dye lots and it shows. That is the one downside with Tosh yarns. Jimmy Beans will attempt to give you skeins that match, but once knitted you will see the difference. You can alternate and that will work if you don't mind a bit of a stripy look. My request to Tosh yarns, work on your consistency. Perhaps smaller batches will net better matches. This is coming from someone who hand dyes yarn herself.

Perfect Pink
I used Tosh DK in the color way Barbara Deserved Better to knit a Kyoto baby sweater for my niece's baby gift. It's just the perfect pink if you want to definite pink but not garish. Lovely. The yarn is very squishy and gets softer with washing.

Perfect for Entrechat sweaters
I bought these sweet little buttons for 2 Entrechat sweaters one baby sized and one adult sized. The perfect compliment to Tosh Vintage in Calligraphy color way. I'm sure it would work perfectly for many colors.

Wonderful Yarn
Some of my first projects were knit with Mecha and I continue to use it. My favorite hat, that I'm still wearing 5 years later was knit with Mecha. The first sweater I ever knit, was knit with Mecha in the Borrajas color way, for my niece who was 18 months old at the time. She wore it beyond when it fit anymore. It was part of her Halloween costume when she was 3 yrs old! It was then gifted to her cousin and I received pictures of another little one wearing it. It is so soft and delightful through your fingers as you knit. The colors are amazing. You won't regret it.
Pro tip: You can put a message on your Jimmy Beans order with requests. I have at times requested they choose a lighter skein if possible.
Happy knitting!
Thank you Jimmy Beans!

Love it! One of my favorites!
I really love Malabrigo yarns and especially Mecha. It is so incredibly soft and knits up quickly. Be sure to get all the same dye lot for larger projects as dye lots can vary greatly! So far I've made a cardigan for myself, a 3T baby coat, 2 hats, and a poncho/pullover thing all with Mecha. I keep coming back to this yarn because it's such a pleasure to knit and the colors are incredible! In my opinion, it's also priced great for a yarn of this quality.
