Nearly perfect for small projects on road trips
now that I've had this for a while, I feel I can give it an honest review. first, I love the look of it. it's very smart looking.
I put this down at my feet in the front passenger seat on road trips. I have all my notions fixed to the inside of the lid with rare earth magnets and use the tray for the stuff that won't stick. I like that everything stays put and doesn't jumble up because of the moving car.
The lid doesn't stay open, so I've used a long, large-gauge crochet hook as a hood prop. So using the inside lid for patterns isn't terribly practical. I tend to use my tablet for charted patterns, so I'm not upset over that.
as others have mentioned, the little cutouts for yarn are blocked by the inner tray. I've managed to scoot the tray over to one end and get sock yarn to feed from the other, but anything thicker isn't going to come through easily.
I currently have a light shawl project in mine and it fits nicely. I'm not sure how others get a sweater in there, unless they are knitting a child's sweater. The case is perfect for smaller projects like socks IMO.

I really wanted to love this bag
I have the Weekender and the Train case, so I'm definitely a Della q fan, so I was excited to get this bag. Now that I've had it for awhile, I can give an honest assessment of it.
First, it's floppy. There is no inner structure to hold up the heavy top, so unless I hang the bag from a purse hook, my project and yarn aren't fully accessible.
Which leads me to point two: the yarn cutter snags my projects! I have to put a piece of tape over it. I don't want to have another project bag inside this one, so this is my best solution.
Other than those two rather big cons, I love the material of the bag I adore waxed canvas and all the fittings are well made and secure. The inner pockets are plentiful and handy.

Well made, but very small
I was a bit surprised by the small size of this when I opened up the packing. The pockets are really only able to hold one set of interchangeable tips, which defeats the purpose of the roll for me. I have several types of tips in several of the sizes and I can only cram two of each 4 tips totalin the smaller pockets. There was also limited space for cables, and I would have liked the cable pockets being labeled with common lengths. For the price this was a bit disappointing.

I never knew I needed this until I had it in hand
I love love the look of this needle roll! I'm super meticulous and have kept all my DPNs in their original packing in a clear tub. But it does drive me a little crazy trying to keep track of them all. Then I got a set of bone needles without packing so I decided to pick up this needle roll. I couldn't be happier! Unfortunately now I realize I am missing a few sizes to complete the roll. Very clever Jimmy beans, very clever indeed.

My new favorite bag!
My husband bought this for me as a gift and I used it the other weekend to go camping / glamping. It was perfect!the perfect size to stow a weekend's worth of clothing and my WIPs in the secret pocket. I love all of the little bits and bobs for the crafter! The material is really nice and durable.I didn't have to worry about putting my bag down on the ground or anything spilling on it. Great job on this DellaQ!
