The eye of this needle takes super bulky yarn with no problem yet I also use these needles with lace weight and fingering weight. The color also makes them easy to spot amidst all my other silver gear.
I've used this yarn in several colors for several different projects. It has wonderful drape--I've gotten great results using with a pattern that recommended alpaca/silk blend. It's very durable for alpaca and does not shed nearly as much as other alpaca yarns I've tried from Fleece Artist and Gedifra. It also appears to be comfortable for babies I made a carrying cape that was worn to a christening and the baby seemed comfy. It cables well and also blocks out nicely for openwork. This is yarn I always try to keep around--it's never very long before I find a dk-weight project that it suits precisely.
I put off trying this yarn for a long time because I'm not familiar with Gedifra but I am so glad I ordered some. I wanted to make one of Wenlan Chia's cardigan's but wanted the lightness of an alpaca blend. This Highland Alpaca gave me exact gauge for the pattern and the result is soft and beautiful. I plan to buy more!
