These could have been the best but....
they aren't and for $270 they should be. The join is almost identical to the knit picks needles in that the chord screws into the needle and is tightened with a key. It has not come undone while I've knit which is good. Yes, they are totally gorgeous but they have some serious flaws. My biggest issue with them is that the transition from the join to needle is kind of abrupt on the larger needles. Where the knit picks needles increase evenly in diameter from the narrowest part of the join to the widest of the needles, the LM needles have a more bottleneck design. This becomes really annoying when you're trying to pass stitches from the cord to the needle. This kit also includes 16" cord which is rare in interchangeable knitting sets. Now I know why. The cord length is too short for the needle length rendering this combination virtually unusable. At 4in the needles are about a 1/2in too long to be truly functional with that cord length. I guess you could not use the bigger needles or the smaller cord, but for $270 they should be able to do that and make you pancakes.
