Lorna's Laces yarns are consistently excellent, and this skein was no exception. However, the special edition variegated colorway I ordered was just awful! It had been described, and pictured, as sno-cone colors. In reality, the colors seem like a throwback to the 1970s -- harvest gold, avocado green, pumpkin orange, camel tan, and a very dull turquoise and an even duller grayish-plum. I had planned to mix these sherbet-y colors with white for a light and bright striped pair of knee socks. I won't waste the yarn but it will definitely go into a nothing special kind of project now.
This yarn handles beautifully. It doesn't slip, split, or unwind. It seems to be on "my side" and creates a very even tension for me. It's a little heavier than most fingering yarns I use. The weight and thickness is very consistent throughout the skein. My only (minor) complaint is that the lovely delicate colors that drew me to this "Spice" skein were muddied and toned down in the knitted piece. Not a surprise, just a bit of a disappointment. I will definitely make more socks from this yarn in other colorways.
