Shibui - Heichi
Nice yarn but...... 3 out of 5
This is a nice yarn, colors are great but I don't like the feel of recycled silk. This yarn splits easily. Maybe it will soften with a wash. If you like the rough feeling of recycled silk you will like this yarn. It is just my personal taste that I prefer yarn that feels good going through my fingers!

Addi - Addi Lace Needles
Still my favorite needles 5 out of 5
every time I order a pair of these needles whether for myself or as a gift I get a notice to review them! I still think they are the best needles and no matter what else I try I go back to the Addi Lace.

Malabrigo - Silky Merino
Love this yarn 5 out of 5
Am knitting a jacket from knitters magazine of several colors of this yarn, it is great to work with, feels good, soft but has body and the colors are great.

Sandra McIver - Knit, Swirl!
Not sure 3 out of 5
I love the idea of the swirl coats, but the charts scared me! I need to sit down and actually read the beginning of this book before I decide if I am up to trying one of the many beautiful patterns. I'll have to get back to this review sometime in the future after I have had some time to digest it!

Rowan - Kim Hargreaves Pattern Books
One of the best 5 out of 5
I haven't knitted anything from this yet but there are at least 3 patterns if not more that I want to knit from this book. Will have to find substitute yarns however since I don't like Rowan's All Seasons Cotton 2 patterns I like call for it. the various patterns use it as well as cotton Glace, Pima Cotton, Sienna, Handknit cotton, kid silk haze, & Lenpur Linen.and I might have missed a couple There is crochet as well as knit. I may do a couple in a cotton yarn, but I think for the beautiful cardigan I will use a wool/cotton blend. Kim Hargreaves outdid herself with this one and well worth the price.

Indigirl - Indigirl Patterns
Not Me 3 out of 5
I fell in love with the looks of the front of this but then after reading the pattern I realized it wasn't me the back is too short and involved too much work to revise. It would be great for a much younger person.

Berroco - Blackstone Tweed Chunky
love this yarn 5 out of 5
I just received my order of 16 skeins of this yarn (Steamers color) it is so soft doesn't feel like what I think of tweed type yarns. I bought this for Harwood Coat in Fresh Fashion Knits and it is working up beautifully; and is so soft I can see it in a next to the skin garment! I hope all the skeins that have recently been on Woolwatchers (where I got mine) is just to get rid of current stock and doesn't mean JB is no longer going to be carrying this great yarn!

Malabrigo - Malabrigo Book Series
Good Variety 3 out of 5
I went to the Malabrigo website and looked at the various projects. I only gave it 3 stars because of my taste in knitting. However there is probably something for everyone in this book. There was one particularly beautiful shawl that almost makes me want to knit shawls and buy the book. (If you love shawls and cowls this is probably a worth while buy.) Several pullover sweaters, hats & a darling baby hooded sweater. (makes me wish I had a small one to knit for!)Disappointed only one cardigan because I seem to be into knitting those more than anything else. I love Malabrigo yarn. I went back and looked again and see a pullover I might like and I could make the shawl for a friend, and the cowl for another friend. can you tell I am talking myself into buying this book!!!

HiKoo - Simplicity
Nice Yarn especially for the price 5 out of 5
Update to my original review; I only have one skein so couldn't do a lot but did swatch and worked some cables.Great definition. I was definitely impressed. Since I only had the one skein I made a scarf for a friends son and both of them loved it. It knits up nicely and is buttery soft next to the skin. I would definitely use this again! I am still hoping they come out with the worsted weight which is better for the sweaters I would knit with it. This yarn proves that you don't necessarily have to spend big money to get quality.

Cascade - Eco Cloud
Feels luscious 4 out of 5
I ordered a skein of this to see what it was like. I bought a skein of #1804 based on the way it appeared in the Patterns for it on Cascade website, and NOT what it looks like on either JB or Cascade's website showing the yarn. It is a nice neutral light brown like it appears in the patterns and I love it! It feels luscious. I haven't knitted with it yet but as soon as I do I will post more. Some one on Ravelry said it was like Lima but I disagree, I don't like lima, it doesn't show the stitches and it is fuzzy; this is not. If it works gauge wise etc; I am thinking of it for the Starsky cardigan. Will report back later.
