There is a reason this yarn has been around for as long as it has. It is wonderful! Color palette made so that beautiful pairings can be made. Fabric wears well. No yarn of this nature is going to suit us for mindless knitting days. If you invest a little extra time in getting used to it, you will be richly rewarded.
Great size and shape for a project like socks! I can fit two balls of yarn in one case, plus the SIP. I have three that I use regularly because they are so well conceived and pretty. My only regret is that they do not thrive when a bit of cappuccino foam hits the fabric. My fault, not the maker's.
This yarn shows good planning and design. The core of Encore-like yarn is even and reliable. The accent ply spun with it has variable width and color, which makes the knitted fabric look more interesting. A very savvy knitter asked me if it were handspun yarn. I knit a large afghan with this and had no pooling that accent ply has the irregularity we like. Interesting, quality yarn for a good price.
Among slow-color changing yarns, this one has great texture and drape and color sense that appeals to my eye. Quite consistent yarn not so much of the thick-and-thin that some yarns in this style have. Easy to knit. Even nicer after blocking. At a really sensible price, too!
Just made a tee from this yarn and love it! Smooth, consistent, and not a single knot in the skeins. Mercerizing gives it that sheen we love. Knits into very even fabric. I used a lace point and had to be a little careful to avoid splitting the yarn, but what does one expect from lace points?! Great array of colors to choose from.
Recommended by one of the Beans by phone, and I am so glad I tried this! Tube is a great size. Started with Verbena, a scent I like. Makes my hands feel better without feeling greasy or like goo will seep onto the yarn. Liked it so much I have also ordered Lavender in a tube, equally lovely.
