Mixed feelings about Rowan Alpaca DK
This yarn is actually wonderful to knit with and creates a beautiful fabric but surely I’m not the only person who thinks Rowan could do a much better job in choosing colors for ALL their lines of yarn, especially this one. I would love to knit another sweater in this yarn but the colors offered are so drab and uninspired, I’ve ultimately gone with another brand.
Even Rowan felted tweed is somewhat of a disappointment in the color area for me. Certainly there is greater variety and more intense hues but they still don’t grab me the way other brands do. I love the yarn itself but im about the perfection of color as much as the fabric so until Rowan gets more creative in this area, I’m forced to pass. 😕

Would definitely buy again
This is the first time Ive knitted with Cascade 220 and I have to say I’m surprised at how much I like it. I’m knitting a long cardigan for my 78 year old stepmom in color Mallard and so far the cables look really nice. It’s not as soft as Merino but still very comfortable against the skin. And who could complain about the price?

Wonderful wool!
I am really pleased with woolstok. It has that amazing rustic look yet it’s very soft and wearable. I truly love the fabric it creates. I’m almost finished with a colorwork sweater and it’s turning out so nice. I’ll definitely use this wool again.

Wonderful yarn
Although I use other high quality wools to knit, I always have some Malabrigo on hand because it’s just a wonderful yarn with so many beautiful colors and it’s so affordable. It’s not for all projects but no one should hesitate to try this brand. It’s wonderful!

My current favorite wool...gorgeous!
I love the look of rustic wools but they can be very uncomfortable next to the skin. Woolstok has that rustic, wooly look but it’s so soft and comfortable to wear. This yarn is also an absolute pleasure to knit with and the fabric it creates is lovely with such a soft and muted sheen. It looks and feels great. I do wish there was a wider selection of colors but the colors that are available are very nice. I encourage everyone to at least try this yarn.

Scrumptious!
I have knit several items with Malabrigo Worsted and Twist but this is my first experience with the Silky Merino. What a pleasure it is both to knit with and to wear! I love the thick/thin weight of it that gives the work a true, hand-made, slightly stubbly look and the softness and drape is just wonderful. I'll definitely be working with this yarn again.
