A machine washable 100 percent Pima Cotton with a soft, smooth hand. The natural fineness and extra long staple length of the fibre adds to Pima Cotton's exceptional qualities. Unlike standard cotton, the fibres go through an extensive production process involving roller ginning. This aids the production of a luxurious premium fibre. The finer fibre allows for more to be spun into a yarn and enhances its strength and durability. I ordered this because it was on sale. The color and texture is lovely. It has joined my growing stash but I am looking forward to working with it. It is perfect for a girl's capelet pattern I found.

I grabbed the last of the Citronella when it was up on WW, and cast on for Jared Flood's Girasole as soon as I got my box in the mail. The texture, sheen, and very subtle heathering of the yarn makes for a beautiful finished object, but the yarn is rather splitty when knit (of course, I consider that normal for a cotton yarn). It is loosely plied with 10 plies of 2 plies each, and it's not hard to accidentally drop/miss one, due to the rather low twist (the lack of twist probably helps with the sheen and softness, come to think of it). No idea how it holds up in the wash yet, but I'll report back!

Great to knit with I'm making a spring short sleeved cardigan. This yellow is a good mellow yellow to wear with jeans.
