I bought these to round out my purchase of the Nova set. Fortunately, there was room in the case for them. Again, these needles look and feel just perfect. I've used them for a variable thickness yarn and they handle everything without splitting the yarn or making my hands tired.
The ends of these are not too pointy, so if you are working with roving, or easily split yarn, you'd have to really push it to break it. They are comfortable in my hands, even in the large sizes. The only drawback is that 10 inches is the longest size. Sometimes, I don't want to futz with circulars, so a longer needle would be nice.
The handles, as other reviewers mentioned, are lovely. Very nice if you knit in public and I do. So should you! It's better than five year old magazines at the doctors office and makes people gravitate toward you for all the right reasons. Not the thing growing out of your forehead :) In this case, the shorter needle length does slip into a larger purse, so it's not too terrible. I am just not a fan of wood alone. To each their own.
I would suggest someone who made scarves on large needles try these without a thought. They are wonderful and I continental knit, so no looking for knitting, stockinette, or purling.
I’ve used these needles almost nonstop since purchased. They are smooth, and the yarn glides from needle to needle. I prefer metal needles, and if you like knitting with metal needles, you’ll love using the Knitter's Pride Nova Single Pointed Needles.
