no snag, tips are pointy enough for tiny stitches but not too pointy. use care...my needles were draped over a chair you'd never do that though! and were stepped on. yes, stepping on them bends them but they bent back. addi's are $$, but paying abount $7 extra for needles isn't a big deal over the life of their use. to me. The Pony Rosewood circular needles are so warm and luxurious you'll want one in every size. The cable is very flexible and the rosewood is polished to a fine finish. The brass joins are so smooth that you will be hard pressed to tell where one part leaves off and another begins.
