Blue Sky Alpacas Techno Yarn - 1974 Smoke
1974 Smoke shown $23.20
A modern take on 1970's neon and natural, the line includes seven groovy pop colors perfectly balanced with six granola-lover neutrals. Modern technology makes Techno a feather-weight genius: baby alpaca is blown into a mesh tube of silk for really fast knitting with no splitting.

Blue Sky Alpacas has agreed to contribute a minimum of 5% of their gross profits from the sale of their Stitch Red product (1976) to the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health in support of The Heart Truth® and women's heart health education and research.

Techno??? 3 out of 5 (3 out of 5)
When I ordered this lovely purple yarn, I thought, because of the name techno, the yarn would be less fluffy, more reflective, with a feel that would lead me to believe the yarn hold its shape. Now that I can read the label I mail ordered my 3 hanks, I see the words whipped up alpaca at the top of the tag. This yarn is 68% baby alpaca, 10% extra fine merino, and 22% silk. I haven't started working with it except for winding it into a ball, but the impression is that this fluffy yarn which had several fluff balls to pull out, will not hold up as a teen's midriff length topper. It was the yarn suggested. I can't imagine washing it. I'll come back to edit this review if it turns out okay.

Smooshy squooshy 5 out of 5 (5 out of 5)
I thoroughly enjoy knitting with this yarn. It has surpassed cashmere as my favorite. That's probably all I need to say. Except, I wish it came in more colors.

fun new yarn 4 out of 5 (4 out of 5)
Very light and airy - beautiful colors, especially the lounge purple! Fun to knit with, although I haven't tried anything larger than hats.
