Love these
I bought the US 11 in 16 inches for hats. I tried them and wish I'd purchased the large kit. I am not a fan of wood, but these are the exception. The cord is nice to work with, it's short, but the dimensions are perfect and for chunky yarn, I would like a full set. Hat creation in knitting is a really wonderful thing. I am fairly new and I can make tons of hats, while learning to lace, cable and do different styles. I don't have to switch to DPN's till the very end and these needles leave more than enough room for casting on and stay put, so you can see twisted stitches.
I am buying the full set of interchangeable and all the 16 inch needles, since they are sold separately. For the price they are far superior to what I was using and the large sizes...perfect.

Great for Large Yarn and Yarn that splits
The ends of these are not too pointy, so if you are working with roving, or easily split yarn, you'd have to really push it to break it. They are comfortable in my hands, even in the large sizes. The only drawback is that 10 inches is the longest size. Sometimes, I don't want to futz with circulars, so a longer needle would be nice.
The handles, as other reviewers mentioned, are lovely. Very nice if you knit in public and I do. So should you! It's better than five year old magazines at the doctors office and makes people gravitate toward you for all the right reasons. Not the thing growing out of your forehead :) In this case, the shorter needle length does slip into a larger purse, so it's not too terrible. I am just not a fan of wood alone. To each their own.
I would suggest someone who made scarves on large needles try these without a thought. They are wonderful and I continental knit, so no looking for knitting, stockinette, or purling.

Insanely Wonderful
I'm a fairly new knitter, but purchased, Knits from a Painter's Palette, because I'd seen a fashion show of Mia's work YouTube. I was in love. Most of the patterns were beyond me. Either in price, or ability, but what a book. I digress.
I purchased enough 829D overdyed, to make the scarf. The easiest thing in the book.
Jimmy Beans came over a weekend. Seriously, the order was in late Friday and I recieved it on Monday in Michigan. I own a soap business and no one delivers that fast. I have 17 wonderful suppliers for that business, but they don't push out deliveries so quickly. I have it. I smell it. I can smell the sheep. I love the smell of Lanolin, as long as it's not straight and going into soap, or hand lotion. The colors are intense and very me. My husband said they looked like no yarn was in the skein. He's been very surprised by how fast I am knitting and how much I have left of the three skeins. The YO Scarf shows off the color in a wonderful way.
I am now hooked, and will be planning another project soon. I love two other reachable patterns in the book and they are on my radar. What a pleasure to work with this yarn. I was thrilled by Jimmy Beans color range and frustrated because there are sooo many. My local yarn store carries six and they are some of the more subdued mixes. I am rarely subdued. I would buy this again in a heart beat.
