Have they changed the way they make it???
I was looking forward to making 2 hats Therese and Everdeen with this. It had such great reviews. They said : No fuzz, not splitty, great colors. Well. It is fuzzy. I agree, the colors are great. BUT the yarn splits too easily. Little threads catch my needle, and when that happens, the yarn reveals a weird interior that looks like puffy cotton with a thin exterior of color. Anther reviewer said painted on color. That sounds about right. There are little puffs of the white interior showing through and the yarn cannot be worked back to a proper thickness. It actually looks defective. I have wound both skeins, unfortunately, and am halfway through the first hat Therese. I honestly do not expect it to survive very long. And I hate to imagine how the tassel will look by the time I have finished making it. I will finish the first hat but I am seriously considering just ditching the second skein and ordering another yarn. The Everdeen pattern shows it made in silky merino, but I find it hard to believe the yarn I have will turn out looking like that. I am not happy!

Terrific yarn
I have used this yarn for numerous projects, and am always pleased with it. It is reasonably priced and washable, so perfect for items that are given to children, people who cannot wear wool but love soft things, or who just are not going to care for special wool. I love how many colors there are, and the slightly variegated colors, which gives the fabric life. The colors are not always exactly what they appear to be on the website, but they have always worked out well enough that I have never sent it back. But bless Jimmy Beans wonderful return policy- because of it I never worry about being stuck with unwanted yarn.

Lovely soft yarn
I knitted a dragon training tunic for my grandson. I did not want to spend a lot of money, but of course I didn't want it to look or feel cheap This worked up quickly, was not splitty and the yarn is a great color. Cardinal. The tunic is a little heavy, but it is thick yarn. I recommend it for all children's items.

I am using this for a baby blanket because I did not want to risk allergies and I wanted it to be completely easy to wash and dry. No mom of a newborn needs to worry about hand washing or drying a baby item! I am very pleased with it so far. It is soft and pleasant to knit. I love the colors that it comes in, and it is not splitty. It is large enough to be satisfyingly quick, and not so large that it just looks odd as a baby item. I am very pleased.

Very nice yarn, nice price
This is very soft yarn available in many great colors, The subtle shading gives an interesting depth to the fabric without looking like variegated yarn. It does not split even though it is so soft. There are occasional knots that appear and are annoying, but not every skein has them. It is a bit challenging to buy online and be sure that colors are what you want when there are no illustrations of swatches, but they are all pretty. My one caution is: pay attention to the XL! I needed to order more for a project and did not notice that they make the same yarn without the Xl on the end. Of course it is a finer yarn. That is nice yarn, too - but it was not what I wanted.
