Shitake is AWESOME - Popcorn is lousy
I bought two colors of this yarn for a project requiring colorwork. The Shitake knitted up beautifully, but the Popcorn was awful! It has absolutely no stitch definition and it's like it's a totally different yarn than the Shitake color. I knit very true to gauge, yet when I knit with the Popcorn yarn it looks extremely loose and uneven.

Made a fabulous shawl
I used the Classic Elite Silky Alpaca to make a lace shawl for my mother-in-law for Christmas and it was great! I knitted in some beads, which helped add a bit of flair. After wet blocking, the piece was gorgeous. I was proud to give it as a gift and my MIL was very happy to receive it.

Cascade 220 - a nearly perfect yarn
I had never worked with this yarn before, but bought three hanks to make a "Jayne Hat" (see the show Firefly). This was the only non-acrylic yarn I could find that came in deep red, orange and gold to match the hat. Well, as soon as I finished my swatch, I was completely in love with this yarn! A joy to work with and the finished project was beautiful with great stitch definition, no itchiness, good loft, etc. The recipient of this outrageous hat loves it! He says it's very warm and comfortable.
