| Vogue Kits, Craftvent Countdown, and New della Q! It's the Craftvent Calendar Countdown!! | | |
Come on, Vogue! Let your needles knit to the pattern (knit to the pattern)!
It's official - we've gotten our crafty little hands on the new Vogue Knitting International Magazine - '19 Holiday edition! In this marvelous magazine, expect to be showered in swanky sweaters and dazzling diamonds (seriously, argyle motifs are BACK and we couldn't be more excited)!
Our own bean, Amy Gunderson, also happens to make an appearance in this issue, and what an appearance it is! Her design is smack dab on the front cover!!
Amy designed the Pull Jacinthe Pullover using Rozetti Yarns Merino Mist in the color 106 Drizzle. This DK weight yarn is a soft blend of viscose, acrylic, and wool that feels pleasant on the skin! The metallic chainette construction gives a shiny sheen (say that five times fast!) to whatever project you're working on and works up beautifully - complete with a slight, fuzzy halo to keep it light and comfortable! The aptly named Merino Mist yarn truly feels like a breath of fresh air after a much-needed rain.
There are so many great designs in this issue, and we couldn't pick just one design to feature, so we tried our best to at least choose a top three (though, we may be a little biased, here). Check out more kits from this issue of Vogue Knitting to keep your inspiration flowing all season with rich colors, chunky cables, and big bobbles!

November must have snuck up on us this year because it's the final countdown (the final... Craftdown?) to December 1st! That can only mean that Craftvent cast-on day is officially only 23 days away! TWENTY. THREE. DAYS! This is not a drill! Have you prepped your needles and hooks accordingly?!
Jimmy, with her right hand Bean, Amy Gunderson, at her side, has been loading up her sleigh for her upcoming trip around the world to deliver these presents to you crafty creators out there! It's gonna be a long journey, but an unforgettable one! Amy lovingly designed both the Knit (Spirits of the Season) and Crochet (Hit the Slopes) Craftvent projects this year fueled by more mugs of hot chocolate that we can count!
This year's crochet Craftvent Calendar comes in a towering blue box with six smaller boxes (that fit in as drawers) on each face to comfortably cradle your yarn, notions, and treats! Each colorway is very close to selling out, so be sure to snag yours before the sleigh takes off!
Orders are shipping out the week of November 18th! The Mt. Rose colorway features a gradient of dark and light purple to gray while the Vienna colorway focuses on cool gray with pops of blue and orange!
The 2019 knit Craftvent Calendar comes in 24 magnetic tins that sit neatly on a metal hanging board which doubles as a wonderful notions organizer after you complete your project! Any Spirits of the Season Craftvent Calendar ordered from now to November 20th will be shipping out the week of November 25th!
The delightfully colorful Mulled Wine colorway is a rainbow of teal and purple with pops of pink! Hot Toddy focuses more on jewel tones between shades of gray.
If you place an order for your Craftvent Calendar after the 20th, we can't guarantee it will make it to you by December 1st, so be sure to reserve yours now!

Wonderful Watercolors!
There's warmth in something that's made by hand! Knowing someone took the time to think up an idea and then carry it out gives us butterflies!
The new della Q Watercolor Collection brings that same warmth to your notions with an artisanal look of traditionally dyed textiles! Each bag, case, and pouch is a one-of-a-kind work of art using striped prints that remind us of watercolor paintings and dip-dyed yarn (which we paired with a coordinating solid color)! All of the fabric in this collection is repurposed with the idea of reducing global fabric waste - but this also means that they're limited edition, so make sure you grab 'em before they're gone!
This collection also features our newest style: the 2019!! This case is the perfect option to store your favorite interchangeable set in (with labeled pockets for US sizes 2-15) complete with a small, removable zipper pouch on one end to keep all of your notions, odds and ends, bits and bobbles, or whatever you would like to call them in order!
This pouch is attached with a snap so you can remove it and easily take it with you wherever you need it! There's also a zip pocket on the side to store your tools, and cord connectors. The whole case folds up in quarters and closes securely with an elastic band, effectively making this the travel case of your needles' dreams!

Lookin' For Somethin' Sweet?
SweetGeorgia always knows how to bring the, ahem, sweetest color combinations to us in their Tough Love Sock Party of Five Mini-Skein Sets! Perfecting the best of both the vibrant world and the hazier, world of neutrals, you could say these sets pack a unique punch! Each pack comes with an assortment of five, hand-dyed mini-skeins that can be used for all sorts of things like fades, fair isle, brioche, and color blocking - they can be used on their own or in tandem with another yarn!
Complementing the spectacular shades found in the mini-skein sets, SweetGeorgia released new colors of Tough Love Sock (for those of us who need a little more yardage in our favorite colors!). In solids, tonals, AND multis, it's hard to keep these shades out of our project bags, it's like Christmas arrived early - and yeah, we've definitely been eyeing the beautiful burgundy of Candy Apple and gorgeous green of Racing Green for some fancy stockings!
Both Tough Love Sock and the Tough Love Sock Party of Five Mini-Skein Sets are a fingering weight yarn made of 80% superwash merino wool and a whopping 20% nylon - those are some springy strings!!

Have You Herd?
We're becoming mean, green, crafting machines with this gorgeous colorway from Koigu! Autumn may be in full swing, but in our hearts, we just can't let go of those bright colors of spring - they're so fun and cheery!
Drawing inspiration from the delicate, eye-catching trees of the same name, Birches features an electrifying green shade with pops of teal and dark grey; it's like taking your needles out for a nice stroll in the park!
Just like slipping into your favorite pair of jeans when they're fresh out of the dryer, this aptly named colorway is a wonderful way to warm up your hooks for the coming winter! Crisp and clean, this colorway has a white base with accents of light blue and indigo hand-painted all throughout the skein, which uniquely fits into your project no matter the season.
Make something that reminds you of fresh linens for a summer knit or an icy accent to any winter wear accessories!
Mirroring the warmth our favorite hobby can provide to us, the Koigu Collector's Club colorway, Sheep, pays homage to our favorite fleecy friends! This off-white skein is highlighted by pops of color - warm brown, light orange and neutral gray - the whole shebang!
Sheep is a neutral color lover's dream and ewe could say we're obsessed! Each hot hue of the Koigu Collector's Club is limited edition, meaning once they're gone, they're gone for good!

Amy's Fade Away Cowl
Amy caught a serious case of knitting fever this past weekend and whipped up a beautiful cowl to show off some of the yarn she had stashed away (we loved it so much, we made it into a kit here)! Yeah, you read that right, she just decided to design something and run with it (knit with it?), and yeah, we're jelly of her skills!
Combining the colorful strings of Urth Yarns Uneek Chunky yarn with the aptly named Monokrom Chunky yarn, she achieved a stunning effect through slipped stitches! By doing that mixed with a simple welting pattern, she created a fabric that doesn't curl! To add that last bit of flair and pull it all together, Amy added some buttons along one side, giving it another wearable style that can complement any outfit!
