| Cardigan Kits, Breast Cancer, & Tosh Crochet! Hedgehog, Farm Twist, Critter Kits, & a Needle In The Haystack! | | |
It's our favorite time of the year! The leaves are starting to turn gold, and the nights are getting longer, which gives us the perfect excuse to get a new, warm project on our needles! Sweater weather is coming in hot (er, cool?) with the newest patterns that truly warrant splurging on some of our favorite yarns from Madelinetosh and Hedgehog Fibres!

|
Celebrating the uniqueness of women of ALL ages, sizes, and shapes, Joji Locatelli made the Farm Twist Jacket! Using the bouncy DK weight of Madelinetosh Farm Twist in the colorway Pavement, Joji lovingly worked each size separately so each winding cable and bobble placement would be as gorgeous on one size as the next. The arrangements of twisting vine patterns transform down the sleeves to create an elegant and timeless design while the cropped, boxy shape of the sweater keeps it fresh and modern!

We're always looking for a reason to snag a few skeins of Hedgehog Fibers (the need for a fade is real, you guys), and Beata Jezek more than delivered with her newest pattern! Beata introduced the Le Pouf Cardigan to us, and we IMMEDIATELY fell in love! The simple stockinette design gives you a blank canvas to let you play with millions of color combos and features the cutest, puffy balloon sleeves! The pattern is available for free on our site with the option of a kit version featuring rich color combos already picked out!

As we start to bundle up and settle into the cool autumn weather, we've learned time and... twine again that once summer is over, the weather takes a turn for the gray. Oh yeah, we're awaiting the whole shebang - cloudy skies, chilly mornings, and scattered showers! A good project on our needles is always our go-to to combat these dreary days with a much-needed dose of color!

PINK POWER
Did you know that breast cancer affects roughly 1 in 8 women (12%) in the United States alone? That's why this year; we're pairing with two non-profit organizations, BreastCancer.org and Knitted Knockers. Our mission is to help raise awareness for this disease and help the brave warriors who fight it. Jimmy Beans is a woman-owned and operated company, which makes this disease hit home for us, as even our own HR liaison, Mindy, has faced this battle.
|
Available for crocheters and knitters alike, we've created exclusive kits - The Breakers Cowl (crochet) by Addydae Designs, and The Whirling Dervish Cowl (knit) by Afifa Knits. With each kit sold, we will be donating $5 directly to BreastCancer.org. In each of these kits you get: - 1 limited edition skein of Studio DK from Neighbourhood Fibre Co. in the colorway "Strength".

- 1 Leather Tag featuring the breast cancer ribbon.
1 set of exclusive stitch markers from A Needle Runs Through it.
All of which is nestled in a pink Namaste Oh Snap bag for easy travel and project storage!

The pattern for this shawl is free with the purchase of either the String Quintet Pack in the colorway Marimba OR with our newest special edition set of knit blockers, aptly named "Knocker Blockers"! From each set of blockers sold, we will be donating $5 to Knitted Knockers. Made with pride from the Jimmy Beans design team, this palette of pink and purple is a limited edition item, so once they're gone, they're gone!
Breast cancer is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer in the United States. Please join us in the fight against it. Together, we can make a difference.

We've Got A Need(le) To Knit!
Okay, we have to confess - some of us Beans can be a little intimidated by double-pointed needles sometimes! It can be hard to get out of your comfort zone, but Addi is helping us through this tough time with the new Flexiflips XL! These needles are a fresh take on the classic double point by having a little flexible cord connecting the two needles - now at a 10" length! Featuring the sharp Addi Rocket tip on one end and the blunt Addi Turbo tip on the other, you will always have the tip you need, when you need it. Changing the game with their versatility, Addi FlexiFlips also make great cable needles!

Have You Herd??Old Mac-TOFT-ald had a farm, E-I-E-I-O. On that farm she had some kits, E-I-E-I-O. With a chain stitch here and an increase there, here a slip (stitch), there a loop (stitch) Can we get a whoop, whoop!? |
Sometimes, we beans just want to own a farm purely for owning and taking care of the adorable animals. It's a little selfish, we know, but they're just so stinkin' cute! Okay... Maybe owning a whole farm would be a little too much work, but it would be impossible for us apartment-dwellers to try to convince one of our landlords to let us own any fuzzy friends larger than a dog! Luckily, to curb this desire (and effort) of trying to own, say, a llama, we've picked up some new kits from Toft!
|
|
We're suckers for those cute crocheted critters, so it was only natural for us to add a few more to our collection! Each Toft kit comes complete with:
- All of the yarn you need to make your animal (in a luxurious DK weight).
- Toy stuffing to bring it to life.
- An easy-to-follow crochet pattern.
- A crochet hook and a wool needle.
|
Perfect for those of us who are new to the world of crochet, or just want a little treat for our hooks, there's no better way than to make a cute creature! That way, you can crochet a tiny farm of your own, complete with a dog to herd your sheep!
|
|
Listen closely... Do you hear that noise..? That's the sweet sound of us rejoicing because we only have 51 more days until Craftvent begins! Both the knit and crochet versions of the 2019 Craftvent Calendar were designed by Amy Gunderson and contain a handful of accessories and tasty treats sprinkled between pre-wound balls of each color you need to complete your project. Have you picked a favorite yet?
|
Each option of this year's Craftvent Calendar is also available for pre-order as a payment plan, making treating yourself this season that much easier! They also both come with the hook or needles you need to make your shawl, which means no digging around in your craft room to find that one pesky hook or cord for our needles (we've ALL been there, don't worry!). The hype is starting to set in because next week, PayPal will be available to use as a method of purchase of this seasonal shawl! Be sure to pre-order yours today to guarantee your spot!

Pose, smile, work that camera!! Shibui brought in the delightfully fashion-forward Mitchell Poncho for us to see and try on! Featuring a high-low hemline and a modern, angular shape, this poncho will make you runway-ready! Worked flat in two pieces from the bottom up and using Shibui Knits Vine, this poncho is beginner-friendly, being made almost entirely out of garter stitch! The interesting construction of the yarn just solidifies this piece as a winner with that "it" factor!
