The weather is cooling down and we are slowly putting away our sunnies, sandals, and cotton fibers. While the pools may be officially closed for the season, us knitters can take a dip into our project bags and fish out some Assigned Pooling (AP) yarn instead! This summer we introduced you to our friend Dawn Barker, inventor of the Assigned Pooling knitting technique, and her special collaboration with the color wizards over at Madelinetosh! You all were so ecstatic about this yarn, we are diving off the deep end to bring you two new spectacular colors and two more stunning patterns!

|
Just like Comic Book Art and Everyday Objects, these next two installments in this collaboration are also inspired by Dawn's love of the pop art movement!
Seated Ballerina takes the Jeff Koons sculpture of the same name and winds it into a skein! With navy as the pooling color and bright greens, pinks, and yellows twisted throughout a cream base, this yarn reminds us of a ballerina making pique turns across the dance floor!
|
We all know Andy Warhol's famous silkscreen work, and the colorway Marilyn completely encapsulates it! Bright yellow like Monroe's blonde locks, this hue blends into a variety of beautiful blues to compliment it.
Both of these colors are available for pre-order in the softest and squishiest skeins of Tosh Merino Light!

New to AP and not sure what projects to start with?! For this partnership, Dawn has designed new patterns perfect for adding some color to your winter wardrobe or make jaw-dropping holiday gifts! Pop is a stunning right triangle shawl with scatters of bubbles over a sea of garter stitches. The Fizz cowl forms in the round from the bottom up with pools of color across a backdrop of linen stitches!

From selling our espresso machine and going all in on selling yarn to purchasing our first building to call our home in 2021, over the years Jimmy Beans Wool has hit some major milestones as a company! While we are celebrating turning 20 this year, we are also revisiting all the major events that got us to where we are today! When we were collaborating with Hedgehog Fibres to come up with an exclusive color for our birthday, we knew we wanted it to represent all of the landmarks we have hit!
|
Bright like a gemstone, Milestone blends a rainbow of blues, purples, greens, and pinks together to perfectly encapsulate our humble beginnings in Truckee to the bustling brand we are today!
Available on both Kidsilk Lace and Skinny Singles, this gorgeous yarn makes us dream of all the projects we can get on our needles and hooks this year to celebrate our birthday!
To get us started, we have a kit of Andrea Mowry's Birds of a Feather Shawl using these striking skeins!

In the spirit of taking a walk down memory lane, we are excited our next Toshstrology hue has landed! Clever, idealistic, and romantic, Libras are known for maintaining a level of balance and harmony in the world.
Some well-known Libras include Gwyneth Paltrow, Will Smith, and Serena Williams.
|
To represent this airy sign, the dyers at Tosh created a wispy purple color for us to get our hands on! Toshstrology is available on the worsted wonder, Tosh Vintage, with solid and speckled options! If you're looking to get your hands on some previous signs, you can still shop the limited hanks we have of Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces, Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, and Virgo!

No Tricks Just Treats!
We're all putting out our pumpkins, ghosties, and ghouls to deck out our doorsteps so why not bring the fun to our project bags?! To get in the spirit of the season, our Beans have rounded up some of our favorite spooky notions, yarns, and patterns that are just as sweet and scary as Halloween night!
One of our favorite brands has taken the fall festive vibes to the extreme! A box of Katrinkles notions recently appeared at our warehouse and we were excited to dig through it to not only find a pumpkin shaped kitchener mini tool but also skull, cat, and spooky sweater stitch markers! All of these high-quality tools are made from bamboo or acrylic and are finished by hand to smooth corners and edges!

Need a new yarn to knit or crochet with while you watch scary movies? Inspired by the "creature features" we would watch as kids (and even now!), Madelinetosh brings us a horror we face all year long... Mondays!
You too can get the pink and orange hues of Sunday Scaries in Tosh Merino Light, Tosh DK, and Tosh Vintage. Are you on pins and needles trying to figure out a project to use this yarn on? Try the bone-a-fide brilliant Skullivan Beanie!

From a frankly freaky monster toa batty music box and a freshly felted witch hat, you'll sure keep it crafty this fall!
|
If you missed out on Fright Club this year, don't fret, we're pump(kin)ed to bring you a needle gauge fit for a patch!
Not only spooky, this needle gauge from Fright Clubs past is sure to fill your heart with thoughts of fall!

Our co-founder, Laura (a.k.a Jimmy!), sat down with Kayleigh Moncey on her podcast, New To Knitting, to chat about all things knitting and crochet! Laura shares her story of how she got into the fiber arts, growing Jimmy Beans Wool into multiple brands, and how Hedgehog Fibres x Madelinetosh Tweedy came to be.
In the spirit of getting to know our founder and CEO, we also reached out to Kayleigh with a few questions to get to know the woman behind the microphone! Meet Kayleigh in our recent blog post!

Project On Our Needles!
Nicole's Thistle Cap
To spread some love here at Jimmy Beans, Nicole knit her fellow Bean, Wren, this Thistle Cap designed by Liz Abinante! Wren! To match Wren's admiration of the color orange (and to add a pop of brightness to his mostly black and white wardrobe), Nicole picked out the brightest hue she could find of Scheepjes Chunky Monkey for this beanie! To make this pattern extra slouchy, she added one more pattern repeat to the Men's medium.
