| Two New Project Bags, Two New Yarns, & A Crawl!
We've been hearing faint whispers that our friends over at Shibui Yarns have been working up an exciting new yarn for us to cozy up with this winter! When we saw a large box of their yarns enter our warehouse, our Beans all crowded around to get a first touch and feel of this new treasure! Meet Murmur, Shibui's first-ever bulky yarn!

True to its name, this yarn is so light that it feels like a soft breath of fresh air entering our project bags! Holding it feels exactly like how we imagine touching a cloud must feel like! This lofty squish is so irresistible we actually can't get our hands off it!
This yarn gets its unbeatable cushiony texture from a beautiful blend of Merino Wool with Superbaby Alpaca! With 65 yards wound in a hank and 10 colors available, Murmur works up into the most gorgeous and homey pieces! From sweet sweaters to plush accessories, we know this is one of our top yarns to get on our needles this making season!

Speaking of warm and cozy projects, our Beans have been anxious to get started on their winter sweaters! We decided the best way to get in the spirit of the cold days ahead is to work on our pullovers together as a knit-a-long!
Starting in October, you can join the Beans in making your very own version of the Saga Sweater designed by Britt-Marie Brehmer using our favorite Shibui strands! This simple raglan pullover can be knit using a combination of Lunar held with either Tweed Silk Cloud or Pebble or you have the option to use Nest alone!
Interested in joining in on this KAL with us but not sure which yarns you want to choose yet? Join us on Monday September 12th at 4PM (PDT) for an introductory Zoom with designer Britt-Marie and Sandy from Shibui!

While we are pretty sad that summer is crawling to an end, we can't help but perk up at the thought that our favorite event of the year is right around the corner! The Sierra Nevada Yarn Crawl kicks off September 15th and runs through the 18th.
This year, nine yarn shops local to our region are coming together to celebrate our love of the fiber arts and (of course) yarn!
To accompany you on your self-guided tour to our area's finest yarn shops, we're bringing you three exclusive accessories to help you out with all the projects you will be working on this fall!
|
|
First up, we have the beloved large della Q Oh Snap in a beautiful light blue that reminds us of the deep waters of Tahoe decked out with stitched mountains reflective of the Sierra Nevada range in our backyard!
Know you'll be filling up with fiber over the weekend?! The official Yarn Crawl Tote will hold all the goodies you plan to get! (If you plan on going super hard, you can always order two!!)
With leather straps and durable canvas construction, there's no other bag we can imagine taking to all of our shop visits!
As a unique souvenir for this yarny event, we also have a set of nine colorful stitch markers that represent each of the yarn stores participating in the 2022 Crawl! These stitch markers and the Yarn Crawl Tote are available for pre-order and will ship next week so you can have them in time to get your crawl on!

Wool You Stok Up On Tweed?
With all the knitting and crocheting we fiber artists do, when we find a yarn we absolutely adore, we have to have every skein in every color and texture in our stash! For years we have been loving how Woolstok from Blue Sky Fibers works up into the most beautiful pieces, which is why we are so excited this fan-favorite yarn now has a new tweed sibling!
The accents of Donegal neps added throughout the four plies of this Highland wool gives Woolstok Tweed a refined speckled texture! While the color palette of this yarn takes inspiration from the original Woolstok Worsted, Tweed's hues are more muted to blend in with the speckles throughout each skein, giving more of an earth-tone sophistication to your project!
This tweed-filled yarn carries 109 yards, and as an aran-weight yarn, it works up into all sorts of garments and accessories quickly. We are already dreaming of all the wraps, sweaters, and cowls we can get on our hooks and needles with this yarn in the coming months!

Project On Our Needles!
Alex's Boronia Cardigan
It is almost cardigan season again and our Bean, Alex, is ahead of the game! This gorgeous lace cardigan is perfect for layering and with balloon sleeves and deep cuffs, it adds a little drama to your wardrobe! Designed by Ambah O'Brien, this cardi was inspired by a small flowering shrub native to Australia. Alex thought it would be fitting to use a yarn native to Nevada, so she decided to knit this project with Reno Rafter 7 in the stunning Liquid Gold colorway!
