| Koigu, Mad Love 3, Spooky Notions, & Holidays Too!
Okay, we don't want to panic, but it hailed this week - we thought it was supposed to be autumn, but it feels like we sprinted directly into winter, and now we're scrambling to get our DK and worsted-weight makes to stay warm and cozy! The cold may never have bothered a certain princess, but it totally chilled us to the bone this week!
|
|
So, with all that being said, you could say we're super jazzed about our newest Koigu offering, Jasmine! Arriving at the perfect time to bundle up in, this DK-weight yarn is perfect for layering! Masters of the hand-painted game, Koigu impressed us yet again with the beautiful colorways and extra-soft strings of this base!
Ranging from bold brights to gentle neutrals and marvelous multis, each skein of Koigu Jasmine holds 242 yards of sumptuous yarn to squish and is crafted from 100% Merino Wool, meaning you'll be nice and cozy all season(s) long!

We're so excited to announce Mad Love 3 - Five designers, one booklet, all collaborating together and cont-rib-uting a handful of new designs that are quick to knit and fun to finish!
|
Each purchase helps bene-knit the MT Community Love Fund. The MT Community Love Fund provides grants and scholarships, donates yarn, and supports the yarn library program (which you may remember from last month's newsletter - the Tiny Yarn Library is a fun addition to the Jimmy Beans shop and helps makers connect, taste new yarn, and give from their stashes.)
This initiative aims to increase maker access and equity in our community. 100% of proceeds from the Mad Love 3 booklet go directly to the fund!

|
From crocheters like the talented Jonah Larson and knitters like the fade-ulous Andrea Mowry, these one-to-three skein projects work up quickly and make for wonderful gifts to friends and family all while supporting the MT Community Love Fund.

Don't Lose Your Head!
We've been skullking around for some interesting notions to share with you guys and we may have found the perfect accessory for spooky season - you could even say we were absolutely bone away by how cute they are!
|
Introducing the Katrinkles Stitch Marker of the Month! Every month will bring new, exclusive packs of stitch markers in a theme unique to that month. Naturally, we had to start things out with a bang (er.. bone?), highlighting the adorable, slightly sinister skull stitch markers (try saying that five times fast, hehe)!
Katrinkles stitch markers are not only handmade (from bamboo and acrylic), but they feature removable bulb pins, making them easy to use! Due to each piece being crafted by hand, these stitch markers are one one-of-a-kind!

Cozy Up with Craftvent!
Craftvent is closing in on us - we can feel it in our bones! We love the holidays so much, it's always like a little bone-anza every year with celebrations, good food, wonderful company, and, of course, some pretty awesome make-alongs. ;)
|
|
This year's Craftvent project is no exception to that rule, supplying us with our daily dose of fiber, beautiful stitch patterns, incredible color payoff, and the unforgettable experience of knitting or crocheting up such a beautiful shawl!
This year's knit Craftvent Calendar, named the Festive Wrap, was dreamt up by the one and only Ambah O'Brien! Utilizing her signature wavy stripes, we're reminded of the windy afternoons kicking up snow and frost, though she was more inspired by the summer heat experienced by our southern hemisphere friends while we bundle up! The heart-shaped motifs make us feel warm and fuzzy knowing that a lot of love went into this design!
|
The Festive Wrap is available in two beautiful colorways: Buttermint: The color of winter skies and polar mornings. The feeling of a single candle lighting the darkness of 6 PM. Ribbon Candy: The color of rosy cheeks and frost-nipped noses. The evening sky blushing shades of pink as the sun sets.

Bone Tibia Wild!
Sometimes finding the right natural or ecru shade can be tough. What with different monitors and screens showing wildly different colors and trying to choose between a warmer cream shade and a neutral shade - it can be super difficult! That being said, we've got a serious bone to pick with Shibui Knits! No, seriously, we have, like, multiple bones to pick with them. Not even they're safe from our skele-puns (by the way, we hope you've found all of these bone puns humerus, hehe)!
The colorway 2181 Bone, from Shibui Knits, is a staple in our stashes. The neutral, shining, slightly off-white color is not only gorgeous, but it lends itself well to delicate knits as well as chunky crocheted pieces. This cozy color is a heavy-hitter in the realm of Shibui Knits, not only reminding us of freshly fallen snow, but the brilliant white light of the sun - talk about a chameleon of a yarn shade!
Available in all of our favorite signature bases such as Cima, Silk Cloud, Pebble, and more, experience the lush strings of Shibui on your needles and hooks this season for a terrifying treat! With weights ranging from DK to lace, there's a yarn for every level of maker out there, and we can only say one thing to you all - ahem - bone appetit!

We're about halfway done knitting and crocheting up the large and fibula-ous Fright Club project and y'all have been asking us the hard-hitting questions like how we would style the finished project! Naturally, we got a bunch of the Beans together and asked them to style these projects with their own personal touch to share how it looks on different people with differing aesthetics.
Good thing we were shielded from the cold with such a cozy project because it was a bit chilly out there!
|
Ranging from being paired with modern, neutral palettes to fabulous matching socks and all-black attire to let the Fright Club mitts and cowl do the talking, the Beans prepared for the limelight! One of our favorite things about knitting and crocheting is that we can come up with a vision on what we want to look like wearing it - do we want our project to boldly take the spotlight or do we want it to support the rest of our outfit? Do we pair them with another print or stick to solid colors? The choices can be endless!

Project On Our Needles!
Alexandra's Skullivan Beanie
We LOVE Halloween around here - no really, we're stoked that it's just around the corner!
To celebrate the season and her nine-year-old son, Sullivan, our Bean, Alex, let her heart do the talking, designing her own pattern to meet her son's requirements of looking "handsome and cool" and we totally think she nailed it! Using traditional Fair Isle technique, Alex whipped up this masterpiece with a modern skull motif, making it not only approproate for the season but generally super-ultra-cool. We gotta say we're a little jealous of Sullivan right now!
Paired with or without a pom pom, this design used two skeins of Madelinetosh Tosh Vintage yarn.
Good news! The Skullivan Beanie is available as a kit on our site!
