The Jimmy Beans Wool Club that originally knocked your socks off is back, and we couldn't be more excited about it!
The 2021 Jimmy Beans Wool Sock Club is the perfect way to add new, fun, bite-sized projects into your already impressive knitting repertoire! Socks are one of those things that we always have in one of our project bags at any given time because they're small, portable, and once you reach adulthood, they're, like, the best things to receive as gifts! Nothing beats that excited sigh of relief when you open a gift and see a pair of socks (and of course, you get bonus points for them being handmade).
This club offers beautiful mystery colorways available in Fun & Vibrant and Moody & Bold and runs for 6 months. Each colorway is available as a monthly auto-renew subscription or a 6-month gift subscription, making this club easy to join, take part in, or gift to a fellow maker who just can't get enough socks in their life! Each shipment contains 1 skein of mystery yarn from one of our favorite indie dyers, which changes every month, 1 pattern for the pair of socks you will be knitting up, and 1 mystery accessory! The fiber contents each month will also be different, keeping you, well, on your toes!

You know that feeling of anticipation you get when waiting for a package to arrive? That anxiety in the pit of your stomach as you peer out the window and wait for the postman to arrive with that fated package filled with all sorts of goodies you ordered the day prior? That's how the Beans were feeling this week with our latest Scheepjes order. We knew it was going to be a big one, but this order was absolutely HUGE.
One fated morning, we rubbed the sleep from our eyes and awoke to not a box, not a pallet, but an entire container filled to the brim with Scheepjes yarn. We had to pinch ourselves because we thought we were dreaming! It was a team effort to unload the container and organize it in a way that made it easy to pull, but oh goodness, were there so many strings, both returning and new additions to our collection!
Scheepjes Whirlette is making a comeback with its many soft, solid shades! This fingering-weight yarn is a blend of cotton and acrylic that boasts almost 500 yards to a cake! This blend of fibers makes it airy and breathable - perfect for the coming months where the temperatures will soar. Whirlette pairs wonderfully with any other Scheepjes offering, but especially with its gradient sister base, Scheepjes Whirl (since the colors match perfectly, hehe)!
|
Are you lookin' for a full cotton yarn also available in fingering weight? We've got ya covered! Scheepjes Catona is the end-all-be-all cotton yarn! Each skein of this yarn comes with 136 yards to play with and lends itself well to everything from large garments like pullovers down to small accessories and projects like amigurumis. And with the large palette of colors to choose from, the possibilities are truly endless!
|
Talk about walking in the sunshine! The expanded color palette of Scheepjes Colour Crafter yarn is to dye for! The perfect combination of squishy and soft starts here with this 100% acrylic yarn. Available in colors from popping brights to soft neutrals, there's a shade for everybody in this DK-weight offering. Ideal for any accessory, garment, or decoration, this yarn is great for all skill levels of maker out there!
|
New to knitting or crocheting? Maybe you just want to get a head start on cool-weather crafts? Or maybe you want something that makes up quickly! Whatever your reason may be, we've got a new acrylic yarn in a heavy worsted/Aran weight for ya! Scheepjes Chunky Monkey is the sister yarn to Colour Crafter. Designed for anti-pilling, making it perfect for all sorts of garments, this yarn is a staple for all stashes!

Projects To Take Pride In!
Alright, y'all. It's officially Pride Month, and we're so excited to be celebrating this year with new kits that show our love and admiration for this lovely community! The LGBTQ+ Community has always been one we look up to for their strength, courage, and ability to love without fear. We stand with you and want to raise your voices up to be heard.
|
|
This year, we're celebrating with the 1978 Gilbert Baker Shawl. This project comes in both crochet and knit versions with both harboring over 600 yards of yummy yarn in the ways of Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light. You also will receive a limited-edition Pride Pin! Designed by our Bean, Amy Gunderson, this shawl brings the origins of Pride back into the public eye with the shades found in the original Pride Flag, complete with pink and teal.
|
We also want to take a moment to shine a light on the B of LGBTQ+ for our bisexual siblings in the community. Designed by our Bean, Adrienne Anila, the Both is Good shawl signifies bisexual advancements within the community with their rights to be seen and heard by all communities. Oftentimes these individuals are seen as broken, greedy, or indecisive and that couldn't be further from the truth! Using colorways provided by Madelinetosh Tosh Sock to best match the rich shades found in the Bi Flag, this kit also comes with a limited-edition pride pin.

Socks never go out of fashion, and these Rainbow Warrior Socks are all the rage in the Jimmy Beans office right now! Designed by Adrienne Anila, these socks were dreamt up as a love letter to the brave warriors of the LGBTQ+ community.
Meant to show love and adoration for the bravery and confidence it takes to come out as your true, authentic self, these socks use the self-striping strings of White Birch Fibers. Like the previous kits, these socks come with a limited-edition pride pin.

Preen with Pom Pom!
The day is finally here where Pom Pom Quarterly is ready to be shipped out! Are you excited about this quarter's edition? Because we certainly are! Inspired by birds and taking flight, these whimsical patterns all had a lot of thought that went into them, from each stitch and color change all the way down to the added recipe from Fiona Churchman on how to make Feather Bread (a pandan coconut milk loaf - talk about YUM!).
|
Pom Pom Quarterly is a seasonal magazine that folds thought and love into each page. Each project draws inspiration from an overarching theme that paints the bigger picture for the edition.
This issue of Pom Pom Quarterly Magazine includes 9 knit and crochet patterns, a recipe, an article, and a tutorial all nested throughout the pages, which makes for a great read and a wonderful time as a maker.

The Beans are back, alright!
|
|
It's been a long time a-comin', but we're finally all back in the office and warehouse - it was like a family reunion up in here! We're so excited to be back and see each other's smiling faces and hear each other's bad jokes and exciting stories about what we managed to accomplish during quarantine or just during the weekend.
With the majority of us vaccinated and COVID-19 cases on the decline, we're lucky to be able to forego masks in the warehouse and office spaces. It almost feels like going back to normal, with dogs around the office, breaks of playing basketball, and hiding away to knit a row or two during our lunch breaks, hehe!
|
That being said, we can't wait to see you all as well! It's been a while since we've all been here, and it's been an equally long time since some of us have seen you all! Come by to peruse our newest yarns like Camp Color or just to say hey - we'd love to see you!

Project On Our Needles!
Amy's Weekender Pullover
We're green with envy for this beautiful pullover knit-up by our own Bean, Amy Gunderson! Back when we hosted our Rowan Weekender (by Andrea Mowry) knit-along, Amy decided to use both Felted Tweed in Avocado and Kidsilk Haze in Jelly for something truly cozy, comfortable, and of course, chic!
She easily modified the front of this project using short-row shaping so the neckline would fit her better, as well as changing the length of the side split to something a little shorter. Amy really went above and beyond with this knit-along, helping other knitters along the way with a smile on her face and a head filled with great ideas for modifications!
