Love is all that we can kit for you! Aloe there! During our lives in quarantine, we have picked up new hobbies such as crocheting, creating poetry, or becoming plant people - seriously, some of our houses have turned into jungles with how many plants we've accrued over the last year. From things like leafy palms to prickly cacti, the world of plants has always been an interesting and beautiful one. Though, there is one problem.
What if we weren't graced with a green thumb? What if we're in the position of killing every plant we touch (don't worry - you are not alone)? Well, we've got the kit for you!

|
The plantastic L.O.V.E. Cactus Kit comes with all of the Universal Yarn Uptown Worsted that you need to complete the four-letter cacti, as well as four Terra Cotta Pots (2" diameter), enough Poly-fil to stuff the cacti, a cute little cactus stitch marker, designed by KT & The Squid, and a download code for the L.O.V.E. Cactus Kit, designed by our Bean, Adrienne Anila.
Ideal for gifting, let these cute cacti become your go-to in finding that perfect present (or keep them for yourself! We don't judge, hehe)!

Cacti thrive in warm weather, it's actually quite admirable because once the temperature gets too hot and we start sweating, we get crabby real fast - we don't understand how cacti do it! Knowing this plight, Madelinetosh concocted something incredible that's launching this week!
|
Introducing the newest base from Madelinetosh: Tosh Wool + Cotton! This yarn is a DK-weight base made up of a blend of 50% Superwash Merino wool and 50% Pima Cotton, making it not only incredibly soft but breathable as well, suitable for all warm-weather activities!
The way this yarn takes dye is incredibly unique as well, thanks to the blend of fibers. The wool picks up dye brilliantly while the cotton stays white, giving your next favorite project a subtle melange effect!
|
|
We also want to mention how stoked we are to have so many incredible patterns already at our disposal, thanks to Team Tosh and their collaborative partners (TL Yarn Crafts, Knitatude, Susanna IC, Salena Baca, and 10 Hours or Less)! They're really bringing the party when it comes to beautiful designs that knit and crochet up exquisitely with Tosh Wool + Cotton. These patterns are ideal for all makers, ranging from summer hats to mittens to sweaters!

More Projects? Sno Way!
Part of caring for plants is noticing changes in the weather and planning accordingly. This year we had quite a few freak snow showers in between days where the temperature exceeded 70 degrees Fahrenheit. As you can imagine, this did not make our plants very happy. So we adapted and covered them up when the temps dropped and made sure they were dry so the roots wouldn't freeze.
Luckily for us, it's a little easier to deal with temperature drops and strange weather patterns for ourselves. All we have to do is dress for the occasion, and luckily, Woolfolk Sno has a plethora of patterns that help us do just that! Suitable for year-round use, indulge your needles in something chic and classic, adding new staples to your already fabulous wardrobe!
Woolfolk Sno is a fingering-weight yarn made out of the ultra-soft Ovis Ultimate Merino wool. Each skein holds a lovely 223 yards to play with and has a marled twist to it, making blending colorways a breeze! Not a fan of the two-toned look? Try out Woolfolk Tynd! Same great yarn with an expanded color palette of solid shades!

The Beauty of Shibui
One of the many reasons we plant people wind up with so much greenery around our houses is that, well, once you have one plant, you can make more plants for free! By snipping off parts of your original plant and propagating them, you can live in your own personal jungle in no time (provided you have the room and potting materials necessary, of course).
And as makers, we can't help but gravitate toward free things. Free patterns are readily available everywhere, and we wanted to share with you some free Shibui patterns you can get with the purchase of the yarn necessary for them! All you have to do upon purchase is email our stellar customer service team over at support@JimmyBeansWool.com, and they'll get you squared away.

Macro Botanica!
Have we sold you on becoming a plant person yet? Whether you're a fan of the large-leafed monstera, the spiraling spider plants, or maybe you don't want live plants at all and would rather knit and crochet up something inspired by them! For that last option, we've found this book to be a huge inspiration to us.
|
|
Featuring 16 patterns inspired by botany, issue 11 of Scheepjes YARN magazine is sure to please! Taking shapes that occur naturally, crochet up new projects that view the world through a macro lens!
Not only does this book come packed with patterns, but it dives into the beauty of the world, bringing attention to just how important nature is for all of us and how each step of the ecosystem affects the next. Paying homage to mother earth is always a no-brainer for us, so this book is sure to make its home with the rest of our collection!

Project On Our Needles!
Adrienne's Rainy Sunday Poncho
While we didn't get too much in the ways of April Showers, we are starting to see mild weather with cloudy skies and gentle breezes. With the wildflowers popping up, it feels like a wonderful time to shine a light on our Bean, Adrienne Anila's, Rainy Sunday Poncho! Perfect for beginners, Adrienne designed this poncho to keep us dry and cozy when the clouds overhead start to open up. Mostly garter-stitch with some eyelet details, the Rainy Sunday Poncho is worked as a lengthwise rectangle before being seamed together.
Good news! This project is also available as a kit on our site using Madelinetosh Tosh Sock!
