How to do a Seed Stitch (Telling Your Knits from Your Purls) A Seed Stitch creates a cool, bumpy looking fabric. It can be a bit more time-consuming than regular stockinette because of all the alternating back and forth between knitting and purling, but it's worth it to create this pretty highly textured look which is great for borders and prevents edges from rolling.
