Wow, these colors are so wonderful, I am making a shawl and love love love the way it is lends itself to the personality of the design. I have made many shawls out of the taiyo sock and find it a bit softer when knitting with the sport, but find that as I knit along I keep my tension as I would for a straight cotton use the addi turbos and when it is knitted it relaxes and becomes supple, has the right amount of warmth and nice drape. Got it when it was not on sale I loved the colors so much and know the taiyo is nice, the thick and thin adds to the texture and personality imo.

best markers
These are the best markers, they slide nice, they don't get in the way, I have not tried the faceted beaded ones, but I absolutely love the rounded ones. I have used them on lace projects as well as more basic knitting and find them the perfect fit and will choose these over other markers in my stash every time, even my old faves!

fast easy knit
This is a fast easy knit and a great project for checking out this yarn. It is nice and soft and springy. The pattern calls for six skeins, I would recommend seven and I put a garter stitch border on the bottom same width as the sleeves to avoid the knit rolling. Turned out nice!

beautiful yarn...but!
If you are making something to wear around your neck, close to your face, etc, this isn't the yarn for you, go look at the silk garden or taiyo for that. IF you want to make a project you want to felt...it is dreamy. It is a softish yarn, just not soft enough for tender skin areas or someone that has issues with wool in general. The colors are wonderful, the slow dye is stunning, it makes wonderful entrelac projects like purses and bowls and such that are felted, it retains the soft feel of it when felted....this is my go to felting yarn, or a garment not meant to wear next to the bare skin.

love this yarn
Can I say I absolutely love this yarn? Yes! Is it thick and thin? Yes, but it works up so beautifully. In the ball I have to say it is sort of unimpressive. But worked up it has so much body, is so soft and just yummy. I have made three shawls now out of it from the cover of the Noro magazine, the pretty green one all in different colors as well as two in the noro garden sock yarn and have to say the Taiyo is my fave. It is not just the colors that make it impressive, it is the feel and drape as well. Want more colors to choose from...

Minimalist Cardigan
oh my, got this on sale from wool watch, been wanting to give the cascade 220's a try, but when I saw it was paired with alpaca and on sale, I was hooked. So far am loving the softness of it. I would say it is not a tough yarn that you can rip out several times, I had miss stitched and had to rip a few rows, it was okay, but I could see not to do it again or I would need to start fresh with unused yarn if I wanted to maintain the intregrety of the yarn. I really do love the feel, the heathering of the colors and am anxious to see how the cardigan comes out and holds up to repeat washing. SO far all thumbs up!

love this yarn
is it thick and thin, yes, does that add character to the project, absolutely. I have made two Declan hats with it, while the pattern did not show up especially well, the were beautiful hats. I am now on to my third project with this yarn and Jai I would recommend for a starter scarf http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/multidirectional-diagonal-scarf I am making that scarf pattern with the water color and I am loving it so much it will be for ME!

Wowsers
Wool watcher brought this yarn to my attention. I have been wanting to try some yarns with linen in them. What is impressive about this yarn is that it is not harsh on the hand to knit with as I had been afraid of. I like that it is springy like wool but it drapes like you would expect a linen to. Best of both worlds! I am liking it a lot, but finding it hard to describe.

scrump-dilly-icious
Made grandson and hubby a stocking cap out of it. One skein works out pretty well for a hat, colors were fantastic, while like with silk garden harsh on the hands while knitting, once knitted it is quite soft, warm and lovely. Grandson lives in it and just absolutely loves the colors and the feel.

mostly good news
I love the colors, the shine, the way it works up. It is easy to knit, made up a pattern for twin granddaughters for a top since I did not see a pattern I liked. I did use garder stitch for accent and stockingnette for body of the sweater. It is beautiful and I recommend basic stitches to really show off, patterns kind of lose the beauty of this yarn imo, I had a verigated and loved it. I did not give it five stars as it does not have the "locking" properties of yarn and will slide. In other words the woven in ends will pop out when washed as well as the stitches will slide and you have to kind of re-distribute and even out the stitches here and there.
