A little disappointing
I do love knitting with silk! This silk is softly spun which gives it a nice hand, but since it's a singles yarn, it fuzzes up much too easily. And winding it into balls is difficult - static electricity builds up so much that the yarn repels itself and pops away from the ballwinder. Best to try to wind so that 1 skein makes 2 balls of yarn.

This kit is AWESOME!
I received my kit a few days ago, and instantly threw all else aside to jump in to work on it!  48 colors - imagine!  The yarn is a light sportweight singles, all hand dyed.  I'm carefully knitting directly from the skeins, rather than winding into balls, and keeping track of the color #'s, although I can see myself switching some of the colors around, as the color placement is just a recommendation and it will be fun to see how it all evolves.  The pattern is easy to read and understand.  I'll have it done in no time since it's so much fun to work on.  Finally - my own Wearable Art!

A great felting yarn!
Wow!  I just knit up a drawstring bag using the Rowanspun Chunky yarn - it was a pleasure to knit with and even more fun to watch it felt up.  It gets a soft halo to it and is incredibly sturdy.  The 2 colors I chose, Cardamom and Fern went so well together, too.  I can't decide what to felt with it next - but at this great price, you know I'll be coming back for more!
