Nice but splits sometimes
This is a nice soft yarn, I am making a scarf for a friend and I know she will love wrapping up in this. The only complaint is that it splits every once in awhile. Not something I can't live with since it is otherwise great to work with and feels sooo good.

"2" different yarns!
I bought this when it was on "Wool watchers". Am making a scarf with it that called for a 10 needle, but I chose to use a 9. Since it was a scarf I didn't swatch it. My bad!!!
Like I have found with most superwash merino's it felt like knitting with acrylic, but the stitch definition was good and I kept knitting.
Curious as to how it would look after washing, I decided to wash the part I had knitted.
It is now like an entirely different yarn and the scarf doesn't look the same! It does feel wonderfully soft however! Luckily I think my friend will still be able to use it, as it is wide enough and long enough that it will be a more elegant looking scarf/shawl than the original.
I like the yarn, but highly recommend you swatch and wash!!

Love this yarn
My review somehow got sent before I finished! Sorry about that, I hate when a person reviews a yarn without saying why they gave it stars.
Anyway I got this to make a designer type jacket and love the yarn. It is so soft & It knits beautifully, shows the cables well. It has a slight halo which is fine for this particular jacket. The best part is that because of the yardage it only took 4 skeins..$66.No way could I showed several people the part that I have knitted and they all want the yarn! I don't understand why Jimmy isn't carrying it anymore! Aslan also has a Royal Alpaca that is lovely, it is de-haired so doesn't have a halo and feels even softer than the Invernal. Maybe we will be lucky and they will carry it. Anyone have any clout with the owners should talk them into keep Aslan Invernal!!!

Not overwhelmed.
I brought a skein home from my LYS to try. First I think the needle size is off. I swatched with a 7 & 8 needle (washed and dried it) we all agreed that the part done on size 7 was best! I can't imagine knitting this yarn with a ten.
It feels okay, but to me the colors are blah and the yarn ordinary. I and can think of other yarns that will give me for my money.

Glad I gave this Yarn a 2nd chance!
I bought a skein of this awhile back hoping to use it for the Greta A-line in Swing & Swagger. I made a swatch and thought it felt awful, more like cheap acrylic so put it aside and forgot about it. Was talking to Jeanne about another yarn and she asked if I washed it and blocked it, I had never been told to do this with swatches so I started. The other day I came across the Trendsetter Merino 8 and decided to swatch it again and wash it. WOW what a difference. It lost the acrylic feel & now feels like a soft Merino wool.
I can think of several sweaters I would like to use this for!

Another Great Needle
I have only one pair of these, but intend to get more. I use them when I need a needle not quite as slick as the Addi. They are better than bamboo and the points are really the best when it comes to doing complicated stitches.
