Feels like butter
I have to admit I haven't knitted anything with this yarn yet, I bought a skein to try and it feels wonderful.
According to Skacel who distributes this yarn they will soon be coming out with a worsted weight which is what I knit with mostly, so when they do & if JBW carries it I will definitely buy some. I have seen some garments made from it on Ravelry and all the comments on the yarn were good. Sure doesn't feel like it has any acrylic in it.
I guess I'll have to go make a swatch and than order some. The price is great!

Really like this yarn
I bought a pink skein of this yarn because I have wanted a pale pink cardigan and can't find one I like to buy!
The yarn is so soft yet strong. I knitted a swatch, washed and blocked it and it came out fine. The yarn has a slight halo which gives it a soft cuddle me look. knits well, no splits,no knots. I am trying to find a cardigan pattern that I think will look good in pink before I order more.
When I get something actually knitted with this yarn I will review again. Meanwhile Ravelry users give it high marks.

disappointed
I ordered a skein of this from wool watchers as I have heard so many raves about Madelinetosh yarns. I haven't tried any of the others but this was disappointing. I did a swatch and washed & blocked it and the stitches look slanted to the left! The yarn is not scratchy but then again it isn't soft and cuddly either. I guess for the price this yarn sells for I expected something really different. Have to say though the color was beautiful and maybe that is what one pays for with this yarn.

Feels great
I got one skein of this yarn from Wool Watchers,(my new way of trying out yarns that I haven't had before I accumulate during the week and have it all sent out on Friday and the orders arrive here on the East Coast on Monday!) received my weekly order today and Wool Cotton was included in the shipment. It beats my expectations! There is a sweater in Fresh Fashion Knits that I want to make that calls for this yarn but it takes 10 skeins which is going to make it more than what I wanted to spend on this sweater, however the yarn is so nice I am going to have to find a pattern that I think is different enough to warrant the cost or something that uses less yarn but I do like this yarn and I must admit that I am no a Rowan fan as I find most of their yarn is over priced for the quality but this one is a winner.

Soft and doesn't scratch!
I just received my weekly wool Watcher order from JB one skein of several different yarns. (My way of trying out yarns I am curious about and that my LYS doesn't carry. She calls me the Queen of my skein yarns I think Berroco Ultra Alpaca is a yarn I will bug her to carry.
It feels so soft and I have it laying on my shoulder and no itch with my sensitive skin. I have a sweater in mind for this yarn and as soon as I swatch it will probably be ordering more, even at regular price this yarn sounds like a bargain to me. More later.

A Variety of nice patterns
There seems to be enough variety in this booklet for anyone to find at least one item they would like to make.It features Berroco Linsey the new 64% Cotton,36%linen,at 5 sts to an inch on a 7ndl & Pure Pima. There is a sleeveless top, several cardigans with various sleeve lengths, there are three that I particularly like all knit with Linsey, all open fronts I don't like buttons and one short sleeve.
There are several pullovers, one with short sleeves, one long,&a third one being the one on the cover and of course several scarfs.
All that said, it is rare that I find more than one item per booklet that I really want and this one contains several!

MY BAD
I wrote a review on this yarn and was incorrect, it was the Extra Soft Merino that I used not the Grande, perhaps if I had tried the Grande my scarf would have been thicker than it turned out. If this is anything like the regular wgt Soft Merino, than I am sure that after washing it becomes really soft.My friend in Chicago loves the scarf that I made with that yarn, she says it is heavenly next to her skin since this is the same yarn except heavier I would assume the same would be true.
I might buy this and try the scarf again!

2nd review on this yarn
I already wrote about this yarn but since I received an email asking me to give my opinion I will update on my project. The longer I knit with this yarn the better I like it. It is so soft, doesn't split at all, and the stitch definition is great. I have had to frog some and it was easy to do. I am using Mineral Red which is nothing like it appears, more of a coral, not a real pink coral.
This is my first experience with the Worsted Merino and I am sure I will be using it again. I also like the fact that it can be knitted on several different needle sizes. I started with a 7 but didn't get gauge so am using an 8 this gives the coat/jacket body without being overly dense. I think a 9 needle would work just as well .
This yarn is lovely and very versatile. I would make something to wear next to my skin because of the softness use it for outerwear because of its body and if I could afford it I would love to make an afghan out of it!

The Best Worsted Wool
I am fussy about my yarn,ʊs Jeanne can attest toʚnd have finally gotten to the point where I buy 1 skein to try before buying. Looks and feel can be deceiving I have found. I have a pattern for a jacket/coat I fell in love with the yarn called for is Origin's Mohair, usually done on a 10 needle, but using a 7 for the coat. The Mohair is over priced for what you get hard to find and very little choice in colors. My LYS would order it for me but really discouraged me from using it. So of course I came to the gals at Jimmys to help me out.
We tried several yarns but none of them worked, somehow I came upon Malabrigo worsted and called Jeanne, together we worked on colors, I ended up with the Mineral Red, which is really a more coral color not pink like on my monitor. (this pattern is a striking different style and I wanted a color that would stand out)
When it arrived I fell in love with the color and the softness of the yarn emailed Jeanne and said lets hope this one works.
Well let me tell you not only is it working but I have totally fallen in love with the yarn. No splits, no knots, stitch definition is great and it is a joy to work with.
I usually look for yarn to go with patterns but I find myself now looking at patterns where I could use Malagrigo worsted!
I don't usually write reviews and if I do keep them short, but really wanted to let you know how great this picky one thinks it is.

some great jacket patterns
Really like the patterns in this book, most of the jackets are done on 10 needles big enough to go fairly fast. I haven't started anything from it but a friend is doing #2 pattern coat and it is looking good. I intend to do the pattern on the cover once I get a few other things out of the way.
