Kristen is still sewing with her training wheels on, which is why she chose this cute dress for her next project! The pattern is by designer, blogger, and Fabric Shop owner
April Rhodes and is as simple as can be! The body of
The Staple Dress (which is available on April's website as either a PDF or Printed pattern) is literally 2 pieces to cut with a customizable hemline (either straight or swooped as Kristen did here), and cinched at the waist with either elastic thread or elastic with a casing. The whole thing from start to finish took Kristen about 3 hours. Easy peasy! She plans on making several more with varying hemlines.
Kristen used Kaffe Fassett's Shot Cotton fabric for this project as Shot Cotton was one of the recommended fabrics due to it's lightweight and flowey nature. She plans on using a cotton voile or Rayon Challis for her next version! We can't wait to see what's next!
