Jenn wanted a comfy, versatile hat in a durable yarn to pull on during these windy Nevada mornings, so she chose the Claudia Hat by MJ Kim and used Cascade 220 Superwash - it was just the ticket! The
Claudia Hat is a free pattern on Ravelry and knits up beautifully in almost any worsted weight yarn.
The pattern is flexible for how many rounds of ribbing you knit before you start the trellis design. Jenn knit 8 rounds before starting the trellis on her hat. She used size US 3 and US 5 circular needles to get gauge because she knits loosely (the pattern calls for 4 and 6).
The pattern used just one ball of Cascade 220 Superwash in color 855 Maroon. Jenn says, 'I love this yarn for tough-wearing accessories. I've washed and dried this hat in the machine multiple times and it holds up like a champ!'
