I hadn't knit anything for myself in months, but I wanted to knit something quick that I could squeeze in between designing. The
Quaking Aspen Shawl from The Fibre Company seemed really simple, so I grabbed the yarn and cast on immediately! From cast on to finish, this project took 12 days! So fast! On size 8 needles, tons of garter stitch and an interesting but easy to memorize border lace pattern, this was a super-fun knit! I am totally in love with the softness of The Fibre Company
Acadia yarn and it has amazing texture that really adds to the beauty of the shawl. I love simple designs that showcase a yarn's unique and beautiful features. I know am going to get a ton of use out of this shawl this coming fall and winter. Oh, and as an added bonus, I barely broke into the 2nd and 3rd skeins of each color, so I am planning to make a matching slouch hat to wear with my shawl! Gotta love yarn leftovers!
