One of our Beans, Cherie, is getting married this July. Cherie really wanted to make herself a wedding shawl, but between working at the shop and planning her wedding, she couldn't find the time. However, one of our other Beans, Gina May, offered to knit a shawl for her as a wedding gift knowing how much it would mean to Cherie to have one. Cherie was so touched by Gina May's generosity that she couldn't help but tear up a little bit. To be honest, the rest of us Beans teared up a little too when we heard what Gina May offered to do for Cherie. Cherie chose the Audrey yarn by Schaefer for her shawl. Even though we no longer carry that yarn,
Madelinetosh Prairie Yarn or
Hand Maiden Sea Silk Yarn are wonderful substitutes.
Gina May found the
Rosewood Shawl by Silvia Bentancur on Ravelry. She did less repeats because Cherie wanted a smaller shawl that was a little more cresent shaped.
Gina May presented the shawl to Cherie a couple of weeks before her wedding, and Cherie glowed with even more happiness!
Many of us Beans will be present at Cherie's wedding to celebrate this beautiful occasion!
