The original
Little Colonnade pattern by Stephen West calls for one colorway of a fingering weight yarn like
Tosh Merino Light or
Shepherd Sock. Of course, we love to modify patterns around here. In this version, Amber used the discontinued line of Lorna's Laces, Green Line Worsted, and a US 6 needle instead of US 4. She also used separate colors for the main part of the shawl and for the trim. On top of that, Amber only knit half of the trim repeats, making a shorter shawl. If you like the thicker look, you can go with
Shepherd Worsted which has the added benefit of being machine washable!
