From Westknits Bestknits Number 3 - Shawl Evolution - a colorful journey through Slipped stitches, short row wedges, brioche, and more!
This top-down shawl shape was inspired by Herbivore, one of my Stephen West's first designs. Start with a small cast on edge, and increase with two-color brioche ribbing and garter stitch. Extra large increases cause the fabric to burst from the edges, forming a unique architectural shape that comfortably rests on the shoulders. You can increase the pattern repeat to make the shawl as large as you want. Two skeins of each color in sport weight yarn yield the recommended size.
