Unraveled Designs and Yarn Patterns - Unraveled Designs Patterns - Aurelia Shawl - PDF Download

From the designer: I've always loved the idea of using multiple strands of yarn to create a gradient effect. Lace weight is perfect for this because you can use 3 strands together, without creating a fabric that is too thick. You can choose any two colors you like, although keep in mind that the transition will be smoother if they are similar in tone and value. By changing one strand at a time, you will smoothly change from one color to the other. Also, by slipping 1 strand of the working yarn, some nice texture is added to what would otherwise be plain stockinette. Using a basic chevron stitch, a gently wavy border finishes the shawl! Measurements: 60" long x 19" at the widest point.

Unraveled Designs and Yarn Patterns - Unraveled Designs Patterns - Cell Block Shawlette - PDF Download

From the Designer: We've all done it, bought a gorgeous skein of variegated yarn, and then it just languishes in your stash because you can't find the perfect pattern that is interesting, but won't fight with the colors. This shawlette is specifically designed to show off those lovely, hand painted yarns, using drop stitches when you encounter the dominant color. The pattern will work best with hand painted yarns that are broken into distinct sections of color, like Lorna's Laces. You can choose any colorway that you like, just be sure that one of the colors in the skein is different enough from the others that it will stand out in the dropped stitches. Unraveled Designs and Yarn Patterns - Unraveled Designs Patterns - On the Cusp - PDF Download

On the Cusp is a slightly asymetrical, shallow trianglular shawl. There is basic stranded colorwork patterning, making it a great beginner pattern!
Originally designed to work with 2 colors from our 2016 limited edition Toshstrology collection, the idea behind this shawl was to transition between two astrology-themed colors. Rachel's birthday happens to fall on the cusp between two different astrological signs, so she created a shawl inspired by that junction between Gemini and Cancer.
