Heather Boyd Designs Patterns - Blueshift Loop - PDF DOWNLOAD
Like wavelengths of light decreasing in frequency in a spectrum blueshift, the striped sections in this cowl decrease in width as you knit. Wear it long or looped, narrow or wide, with lace or without; combine two or more cowls for a wardrobe statement that says "casual, but classy", or 2 yarn colors for even more fun. The rolled edge mimics the relaxed look of stretchy jersey fabric, and the lightweight wool is perfect for even warm-weather-wear.

This hat would look great in any solid, multi-color, or variegated yarn - I specifically designed it to minimize the pooling/striping that occurs with hand-dyed yarns; all pooling is restricted to the top of the hat, where it has quite an artistic effect!
Heather Boyd Designs Patterns - Cholula Chevrons Shawlette - PDF DOWNLOAD
I've always been fascinated by ancient pyramids, especially those in Central and South America. The Great Pyramid of Cholula in Mexico predates the earliest known civilization of the area, and each group that came to power in Mexico over the last several thousand years (the Olmecs, the Toltecs, and the Aztecs, and later the Spaniards) added to it. This crescent-shaped shawl grows in the same way: each repeat of the edge stitches adds a new layer to the zig-zag pattern along the top edge, and the chevron lace border is knitted right onto the body of the shawl. The zig-zags, chevrons, and center diamonds echo the shape of the Cholula pyramid, helping the finished shawl become something much more than the sum of its parts.
Heather Boyd Designs Patterns - Daylily Tunic - PDF DOWNLOAD
This light and lovely tunic-style top was inspired by the lace patterns in vintage chemises; layering it over a tank top makes it perfectly decent for daytime wear while keeping it cool enough for warm temperatures. Knit in two pieces and joined at the bottom band and shoulder seams, the construction is as simple as can be and adaptable for different body types. Make the head opening as wide as you want; add extra width to create a drop shoulder; seam the sides or leave them open - it's up to you!

Heather Boyd Designs Patterns - Waving Water Shawlette - PDF DOWNLOAD
Born under the Cancer sign, I've always been drawn to water. This simple-to-make but visually stunning shawlette takes a gentle boomerang shape for easy draping around the shoulders, incorporates both beginner and intermediate lacework, and is easily adjustable to use every last yard of that special skein of yarn.
