Year of Hats: September Hat Free Pattern

What's better than a free hat pattern? 12 free hat patterns, of course! This year Kelbourne Woolens is releasing a new, free hat design each month made in Germantown. The September Hat uses a super cool slip-stitch pattern to create vertical columns of texture, and is knit in the round from the bottom.

Yarn Suggestions:

• 1 skein of Kelbourne Woolens Germantown, we recommend 613 Persian Red or any color of your choosing.
• US 6 (4.0mm) - 16" circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge
• US 7 (4.5mm) - 16" circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge
• US 7 (4.5mm) - DPNs, or size needed to obtain gauge
• Darning Needle
• Stitch Marker
• Sewing Thread
• Sharp Sewing Needle

• 16" (40.5 cm) circumference, unstretched, 9" (23 cm) height.

• 25 stitches x 36 rounds = 4" in Slip Stitch Stripe on larger needle after blocking
