| Plenty of Pom Pom, Rowan, & Virtual Yarn Crawl!
Word has spread that this year, we're taking the Sierra Nevada Yarn Crawl to the internet! Normally, this event is a local's (or traveler's) exclusive, we decided to open it up to the world to bring a little bit of joy during these turbulent times!
Between September 11th (TODAY!) and September 13th, join Jimmy Beans and eight other shops as we tour you around our stores, show off our amazing teams, share free digital classes with technique help and tutorials, and offer exclusive yarns and kits all while soaking in the scenes of beautiful Lake Tahoe and the Biggest Little City from the comfort of your couch! Check out our Official Sierra Nevada Yarn Crawl page to find our entire calendar of events as well as an easy-to-browse guide of all of the unique and exciting goodies we've unveiled for this event!

Designed by our Bean, Amy Gunderson, is the Reno Casino Cowl! Available in both knit and crochet versions, this beautiful piece draws inspiration from the glimmering lights, delicious food, and sounds of someone winning the Jackpot! The knit version features a diamond motif bordered by arches that look like the Reno architecture we've all come to know and love! The crochet version reminds us of the twisting patterns on the floors of every casino that lead to the cafes and lounges! Both cowls use the exclusive Madelinetosh colorway Reno Casino, which was specifically made for this crawl! We can see how this rainbow of beauty got its name, hehe!

Highlighting a gorgeous and subtle chevron design using alternating stitch patterns and colors, this kit comes with one skein of Tosh Merino Light and one skein of Hedgehog Fibres Alpaca Boucle! This combination of yarn makes for a fun and interesting journey the whole way as well as a texture that's worth squishin'! This kit comes packaged in a little pink yarn-shop-shaped box and includes a calendar dating from September 2020 through August 2021 with space for notes on the back, making for an adorable countertop accessory that comes in handy when you need to jot something down, make a list, or simply doodle!

In the beautiful Together Apart Shawl, you see Melanie's signature use of tasteful stripes brilliantly highlighted by a small amount of contrast color to make them really pop! This asymmetric shawl starts from one tip and knits up easily to the other end. The lace section also includes written and charted instructions for you to use at your leisure! This kit is packed up in a cute yarn-shop-shaped box in the same gorgeous pink shade!
Want more Melanie? She and our Chief Knitter, Laura (AKA Jimmy), will be chatting about these designs at 3PM PT on Saturday, September 12th on the Official Sierra Nevada Yarn Crawl Instagram page. Learn about what motivates them and how they dream up such incredible things - we can't wait to see you there!
|
You didn't think that was it, did you? We will also be holding a Solar Dye class with Rachel Roden! Be sure to purchase a Dye Yourself kit to easily participate on Sunday, 9/13 from 11:00 to 11:20 AM! This kit comes complete with a mason jar, Cascade Heritage yarn in the shade White, 5 different colored dyes, gloves, and a mask for the dyeing process!!
If you would like to dye more than one skein of yarn, be sure to pick up more Cascade Heritage to do so - every kit has enough dye for 2-4 full skeins, depending on the amount you use!

We're stepping into something a little more luxurious with this rendition of the Jimmy Beans Sweater Club, which uses Madelinetosh Silk Merino, a sumptuous blend of merino wool and silk that glides on your needles like butter (without the mess, of course!).

|
The Madelinetosh Sweater Club is a great way to add a new project under your belt and create perfect garment for the coming seasons! Connect with other like-minded makers on our Official Facebook page! This edition of the Madelinetosh Sweater Club is making the lovely Milkshake Cardigan by Joji Locatelli!
This cute cardi is the ultimate go-to project and makes a great staple sweater for your wardrobe! The classically-styled cardigan is worked in stockinette from the top down and is a perfect beginner's project! The button band and edging are done in a simple rib for a clean finish, which complements the three luxurious and exclusive colorways:
|
- Amethyst: A tonal warm purple shade with sprinklings of pink and cooler purple woven throughout the skein. Similar to actual amethysts, this shade is pleasing to the eye and soothing in your project bag! - Rain Pool: A deep tonal blue color that reminds us of wading into shallow waters on a clear, sunny day. The mixture of lighter blue and darker blue keeps things interesting and makes for a stunning knitted garment! - Spice Market: A light neutral tan with subtle speckles of red, blue, and black, reminiscent of the sweet smells of allspice and cinnamon wafting through the air. This shade provides visual interest to make the most of the fall season!
|

Adrienne's Accessories!
This isn't our first rodeo, and it certainly won't be our last when it comes to gushing about our favorite notions and helpful trinkets in the knitting and crocheting world. Whether it be your tool of choice (hook or needle, of course) or a favorite notion like your needle gauge or stitch markers, there's always a special place in our hearts for these tiny wonders! We could seriously build a stash of JUST accessories these days!

Have you ever wanted to show your love for your favorite craft subtly? Studio Oh! knew how to do this effortlessly with their Eli Halpin Collection! These adorable water bottles are made from lightweight stainless steel and hold quite a surprising amount of liquid (17oz and 25oz to be exact)! They feature gorgeous artwork of cute, whimsical llamas (some designs even have a group of our fuzzy friends) that make us smile every time we reach for them! Each bottle can keep liquid hot for 12 hours or cold for 24 hours - yet another way these llamas have our backs!

The end of the year is a strangely competitive one where people who enjoy the holidays compete to see who can show their love for their favorite in innovative and exciting ways! Ranging from pine trees that stretch to meet your ceiling to skeleton friends chilling on the patio, spooky season and festive season seem to butt heads more often than not, and we're here to get to the bottom of it all!
Well, we have to ask: what do you do when you enjoy both holidays? Do you celebrate them separately? Maybe you find a good melding of the two and have a black tree and orange ornaments? A skeletal Santa Claus? Either way, we want to share with you what our solution to this ongoing competition has been!
And that is a Craftvent of sorts for both holidays!
The Halloween-inspired Fright Club is the spooky sister to the original Jimmy Beans Craftvent Calendar, so we know that there are some high hopes for it! Packaged in a cute coffin-shaped box, you will get a month-long project that results in a cowl perfect for snuggling into when that frigid breeze blows the last leaf off of your tree! This mosaic project is available in knit and crochet options as well as two colorways (Bright and Mellow) - it's like trick-or-treating with a bunch of yarn and no tricks! We heard from a few ghouls wandering the hallways that the Fright Club project comes with exclusive goodies like a custom-made needle gauge and frighteningly sharp scissors for snipping all of those ends!
|
What if you're more the jolly type? This year, we're bringing back the original Craftvent Calendar with two gorgeous colorways (Northern Lights and Cinnamon Sugar) to celebrate the season with something frosty and something cozy! Each day is packaged in a super cute, reusable drawstring bag! Complete with enough yarn to fill a small stash, this seasonal scarf is perfect for keeping you warm and fashionable. And the best part? This project also comes with options for crocheters and knitters to each join the fun! It's like Christmas morning every day when you open your bag and get into crafting! Oh yeah, this holiday season just got a whole lot sweeter for everyone!
