Join our Bean, Jeanne, with this helpful instructional video demonstrating how to join knitting in the round. Demonstrating that this technique is achievable through the use of any cast-on, Jeanne walks you through her favorite way of joining your work together so you can get to knitting as soon as possible! How to join knitting in the round Below are three different methods that can be use to join your knitting in the round. There are probably many other methods but these are very common and simple to do. All three methods work on both double points and circular needles. Pick the one that makes the most sense and works best for you. For all methods:
The first way to join knitting in the round is Jeanne's favorite.
The second method is to cast on one extra stitch, slip this extra stitch to the left-hand needle without twisting it and knit it together with the stitch now next to it. The third method is to just start knitting. Note: When you use this technique there will be a little notch or gap in the edge of your knitting. To help minimize this gap, pull the first stitch tightly. Then when you are finished knitting use your tail to duplicate a chain stitch to match the rest of the edge and close up the gap when you're weaving in the ends. The join will be virtually invisible once you do this. There you have it! Three great and simple ways to join in the round! Posted by Laura of Jimmy Beans Wool |
