Come join us for a retreat full of yarn, knitting, and learning at the lovely Reno Renaissance Downtown Hotel! This year, we've made it bigger and better (truly deserving of the name, The Biggest Little Retreat)! Meet with other retreaters with a passion for the craft and let your skills truly shine! Attend classes for a progressive project, dye your own yarn, receive unique and exclusive goodies, and just have a blast!
We've heard your feedback from our last retreat and put it in action this year. We are cutting back on our occupancy to make the classes a little more special and helpful for everyone! We've also included an exclusive Jimmy Beans lounge with comfortable seating to relax in, knit, and socialize with other like-minded makers!
Spend some time in the Jimmy Beans 22,000 sq. foot warehouse and yarn arcade for a while between classes, try your luck with our claw machine or simple find some new yarn to squish!

Instructors/Classes:
Afifa Sayeed Born in the Indian sub-continent and educated in Asia, Europe and the United States, I currently live in California. My work is informed by all these cultures. Passionate about bringing together elements of classic design from a variety of sources to create something new and original, I bring a modern sensibility and love of construction to the art of knitting. Since 2015, I have published a full wardrobe of garments from fingerless mittens, cowls, hats, scarves, shawls, sweaters, and more. I conduct knitting workshops seasonally, regularly contribute promotional designs for some of California’s favorite local yarn shops, and have collaborated with several independent dyers across the country.
Amy Gunderson Amy Gunderson learned how to knit while she was a pizza shop owner/operator in 2009. Not long after this, yarn and knitting became her profession. She was the creative director for Universal Yarn from 2011-2019, and is currently the yarn director for Jimmy Beans Wool. She's written two books, and her knit and crochet designs have appeared in most major knitting magazines, including Vogue Knitting, Interweave Knits, Knitscene, Interweave Crochet, Knit.Wear, and more. You can follow her love of knitting and dogs on Instagram with the handle @amyyounggunderson.

Beth Whiteside A former software professional, Beth now mixes her enthusiasm for words and numbers, yarn and fiber, teaching and learning, and design of all kinds into Beth Whiteside Design. She's taught classes locally in the San Francisco Bay Area since 2003, nationally at events like STITCHES since 2005, and online at Annie's Craft Store and Bluprint (formerly Craftsy). Her goal in creating and teaching classes is to further each student's knowledge and skills, opening their mind to new creative possibilities in the world of things made with string. Class content is broken down into manageable chunks that build on each other, presented in multiple ways to best match different learning styles. Beth's love of teaching is driven by a search for the "aha!" moment, the moment when light bulbs go on in her students' heads!
